Will a MINOLTA f1.4, 50mm, MC ROKKOR-X PG Lens work straight on a Minolta X-7A camera?

I would say so. I believe all manual focus Minolta lenses can fit into any manual focus Minolta camera like the one you have. The X in the Rokkor-X would indicate the lens mount while the PG indicated that the lens have 7 lens element in 5 group - something you don't need to worry about if it takes good picture.

Minolta introduced its bayonet lens mount in 1958. This was their standard lens mount until the introduction of the world's first AF SLR, the MAXXUM 7000, in 1985. With the introduction of AF Minolta changed their lens mount.

Any manual focus Minolta lens made will work with your camera. I own the lens you are inquiring about. You'll love using it.
