For the record, I've never ridiculed the Christian God or any other god for that matter. The question is just in response to a few questions and answers I've seen today.

We get upset when someone redicules anyone we love,
our friends, our home, our own family or our God. It's not a nice thing for anyone to do, is it?

But Christ is our example, so we should do as
He did when He was rediculed, spit on, and nailed to a
cross.......He said, "Father, forgive them". What a Savior.

Well as a polytheist believer I can see their POV. Hel, I admit that I do get upset when someone ridicules my Gods, or one of Them. So it's easy to see why Christians get upset when their God gets ridiculed. I don't know what belief, if any, you follow, but think about this....if you do worship any form of deity, how do you feel when that deity is ridiculed?

I admit that there are Christians and others of varying faiths out there who are utter jerks, but as a friend of mine once said: "Insult the followers all you want, but spare their God the rod. It just makes you look like an @$$."

It is not that we get "upset" it is just that we know that God does exist and that there is coming a day when everything that we are saying will come back to some people's mind only when it is too late. There are unbelievers on this website that keep speaking such blasphemy and you all think that it is okay that nothing will be done about it but, you are wrong, that day has just not come yet. Of course God is able to take care of Himself but, you still should not speak such things that you do.

I would get upset too if my entire belief system were ridiculed and made fun of, including non-Christians as well.

Most non-believers don't necessarily ridicule the Christian God, just Christians that believe in the Christian God. A subtle difference.

Well they identify with their creation, it's as one is directly ridiculing them. And such questions and descriptions that are placed on their "scriptural God," shakes their foundation, because often times its an question challenging them to look objectivity at what they worship and how much of it doesn't make sense from a literal perspective and to believe the scriptures is literal one has to negate all reason, so such things ticks them off. So they are questioning the very fabric of their thinking, after all this perspective of theirs is what they view the whole world with.

Yes, God is big enough that He knows how to reach out to every heart. If someone makes fun of me, it does not matter. It use to bother me and I would cry because my feelings got hurt. But then, I realized that everyone has the right to their own opinion and beliefs.

Because they feel that if you ridicule their God then you are ridiculing them. Why do you find it necessary to ridicule their God?
