I had an anxiety attack last week, and my symptoms were heart beating faster, shaking and loss of breath, i laid down and controlled my breathing and in 10 min it past, what goes on in the body to trigger it?

I had a couple of these. A lot of stress just built up all at once as I was freaking out over something and then bam it hits. Had all those symptoms you have, except mine lasted longer and my body temp went down to 94 degrees. I had some more too, but I definitely think a build up of stress causes them.

The truth is anxiety and panic crisis can occur in any situation. Sometimes they're associated with high stress levels but others it has just no explanation at all. I've seen it happen during a friendly card game, meeting, walking down the street.. it is not really accurate to try and define a cause.

Stress and worry is the main cause of them. It is good you are going to the doctor. You probably need some meds to just calm you down. Just try to relax when you go home. Have a glass of wine. And just chill.

Stress and too many things going on in yur life that you have no control over and You might try breathin in a small brown paper bag ,,,It might help, and if you have them too often you should get professional help.

chemically, it is caused by excess adrenalin.
