there is no such thing as older or grown up, i do get annoyed at the feeling that i add a number to my current age, but that is not me, the face, the physical might change but your mind, heart, beleifs, things that you enjoy will never go away, youth is still and forever will be in you as long as you beleive it.

Well, I'm dealing with a second bout of cancer and this time it is stage four so I am thinking about dying. I don't feel sick right now and I don't want to die, but I sure don't want to hurt when I die. I don't have regrets. I'm not saying my life was perfect, but I lived it the way I wanted to after I got passed my fears and anxiety. I know we are all going to die, so it isn't something that only I will go through. It is just that when you are going to die, you are doing it by yourself. I would like to have people I love and care about around me. I have loved traveling in my life, but when the time comes, I want to be with the ones I love. I think we all have these philosophical questions about death. For some it is further away than others. Hopefully it gets you evaluating your life to find out it if is on the track you want.

I am not afraid of dying. I was once afraid of getting older but oh well you are as old as you feel. Do some things for yourself to yourself. Spruce up your wardrobe, get a new do' just do something to regain confidence in yourself. Even if you are getting older know that suffistication is the key at any age male or female.

Use your birthday to celebrate another year that you did not die. Getting older is a gift. How 'bout a good old fashioned roller coaster ride. Something childish that will get your adrenalin pumping. Whatever it is that you enjoy but don't often do.
I'm not afraid of dying. I'm afraid of suicidal depression, but that's just part of being bipolar.

I think everyone is, even people who claim not to be the least bit afraid. It helps if you have faith of some kind. I try not to worry about it too much, just live each day to the fullest, be good to others, do right by myself and other people. I am watching the Emmy's and didn't even know that Tom Snyder (talk show host) had recently died. I remember watching his late night show like yesterday, when I was in my 20s-30s. I looked him up and he was 71. Death is part of life. You didn't ask to be born and you don't ask to die. All you can do is do your best in this life.

To answer your first question, no, I'm not afraid of dying... To answer your second question, I too am getting older (and not richer, quite the opposite) - I suggest you seek comfort in religion (My choice was/is Christianity, but Buddhism works too) or just seek out friendships either online or otherwise.. Being able to talk to someone about how you're feeling without them telling you that "everything will be JUST FINE" is refreshing..

I get the same feeling quite often - I try to remember that each day is a blessing and that so many people don't even make it through childhood. I also try to enjoy every moment even very small things so that if something does happen to me soon I'll at least feel more satisfied with my life.

Why not do something nice for someone else on your birthday.
Volunteer at a food bank or the hospital. Perhaps you could go rock some babies that are in intensive care.
Helping others is a good way for me to beat depression.

It's kind of trite, but why tip toe through life to arrive safely at death? I'm an EMT/firefighter, I deal with life and death everyday. I think the answer is to live your life exactly how you want too, and to make the world a better/safer place while you are here.

The best thing I know of about getting older is teaching others. I'm pretty good at my work ( I'm 41 and in my industry for 23 years ) and I love passing on what I know. I feel good teaching people and it strokes my ego for the " student " to be amazed at my speed, knowledge, shortcuts ect....Am I afraid of dying HELL NO - I'm curious as hell as what happens to your soul.
