Also, can you please explain why you feel Christians don't understand the bible, when Muslims have sheiks who interpret one way or another using differing hadith some of which are supposed to be more reliable than others. From what I have seen there is just as much confusion regarding the religion of Islam as Christianity.

All Muslims believe in the same creed.

Some differences are political in nature.

There is no raging debate going on about the Nature of God.

92% of all Muslims believe in exactly the same thing.

8% have different opinions as to how a leader should be chosen.

Democratic elections are nicely doing away with these small differences too !!

Muslims proposed some questions to christians because they want to know the reason why christians choose the outdated Bible.Muslims know that that there are some versions of Bible which is contained some contradictions. In the verses of Qur'an which have clear meanings all muslims have the same understanding. But in the verses where there are not clear meanings,we have some interpretations. So we have different opinion such as about riba or interest of money..So in general principles we have the same interpreta
tions. You must understand Islam by studying the original Qur'an and the valid hadiths of Muhammad pbuh in order to have a real meaning of Islam. There are so many untrue or false hadiths. This is intentionally prepared by non muslim writers for misleading its followes or for making the bad image of Islam.Allah said in the Surah 2 Al Baqarah 2:2 Al Qur'an has no doubt or confuse as a life guide for the humans who are taqwa (obey to instructions and prohibitions of God)In.2::3 they who believe what are unseen (ghaib),who are praying (shalat) and give a parts of their livelihood to others. In 2:4 and they who believe to Qur'an which has been given to you and other holy books which have been given before your eras and they convince to the existence of the life after death.(hell and heaven)In verse 2:5 they will get the signs
indicate the right path continously from God and they wil have good luck.Verse 2:6 Really the infidels(kafir) for them are the same given warnings or ungiven warnings ,they will not have a strong faith.(they will not believe it)

Well I agree with u that both religions have people that mis interpretes the holy books, but u can not compare sectin in islam to the one in christianity. I was born and raised a muslim, I didnt even find out obout the sects in islam untill I took a world history class, but I bet u any christian around the age of 12 already know if he/she is catholic, anglican etc. majority of practicing muslims can go anywhere in the world and pray at any mosque, without worrrying about name(I'm originally from Africa, but I've prayed in london, and I pray in america) u cant say the same thing about christianity.
Peace
