Why is Gates and the White House determined to DENY our fighting forces the rest they need?

Even though I am anti-war, I don't see how keeping our forces pegged down in a quagmire--without sufficient rest periods in between tours--is all that beneficial or even logical to begin with.

Not to mention trying to start something with Iran.

What are your thoughts?

I don,t know why Gates and the White house denied the fighting forces for the rest they claimed for. It is better to say that the America shouldn't have started this blood war at first. As the insurgent attack take places in any place at anytime in Iraq, this makes the US troop leaders break their nerves. Of course it is a hard job for every soldier, what can they do in this battle field? It is absolutely a difficult situation for all troop members in Iraq. Most of the soldier may say: Why Bush started this damned war? My life is in danger all the time.
I think it is a psychological stress warfare in Iraq.There's no concern about the soldier's safety, welfare, absoluetly not beneficial to any party in this war. Regardless of who win or loss, it is a cruel war!
I think you might have the wisful thinking of attacking Iran. Never think about it, God will disallow it. I think it is better to withdraw the US troops out of Iraq gradually and protect the Iraqis to lead to the democracy. As Allan Greenspan admitted the main goal of Iraq war for the oil, the aim is just for the ******* money. Even if American oilmen get all the oil wells, they need a lot of investment to get the oil out of Iraq. I think it is human evil nature of greed and fear.

I find it a little ironic that you would concern yourself with what is good or not good for the troops. In the Viet Nam time frame I was a Combat Medic, and my job was to fly on a dust off (I guess that you would understand better if I was to write Air Life) On my way home after service in an overseas area I was spit on, called baby killer, and a lot of very unpleasant things besides. I never shot at anyone in combat, and I would have to have treated the wounds of the enemy as well as our own troops, but your then co-heart would spit on me and say those nasty things to me a person trying to save lives. You don't mind me if I find your question very disingenuous and feel like the only reason that you ask this is so that you can figure out another way of saying things that are very disparaging. You certainly have the right to write any question that you want too, but just remember who gave that right to you, and it wasn't the government, it was that mere solder doing his duty with out question. Note; it is to bad that you and some of the others don't realize that when you bad mouth our leadership, that it is very divisive and works against our troops, It used to be called giving aid and comfort to the enemy. There are many men from Viet Nam that would have liked to have seen Jane Fonda treated justly. By the way there are two things that a civilian can do to end up in front of a firing squad. Looting and giving aid and comfort to the enemy.

Political Correctness is a Communist dogma, and is basically its final ditch attempt, regrettably efficient, to wrest democracy from the West. The extra people who exist in a society at odds with one yet another in the process the gruesome spectre of opposite discrimination, the extra illusory choose is fostered for an authoritarian state as a manner to decrease unfastened speech and institute extra censorious bureaucracies and regulations. Communism, and it would desire to be rejected. Over-immigration has been a socio-economic disaster, and non-white countries does not stand for it, so neither could we.
