Your question is invalid as the teaching of the Trinity is anything but polytheistic. The persons of the Godhead are one God as impossible as it is for feeble human minds to comprehend. One may take the word of Jesus in this regard from John 10:30, "The Father and I are one. " (NET)
Now some like JW will try to tell you that "one" means of the same mind or some rubbish like that however the Greek word for one is "heis" which is the numeral 1. The Jews knew exactly what he was saying because they picked up stones to stone him because he was claiming equality with the Father.

Dear one, the Trinity isn't "polytheistic." There is only one God and He is manifest in 3 ways. The Father has always been, the Son walked on earth so that we might know the Father, and when the Son ascended, He left His Holy Spirit.
All one God.
God bless!

I have to wonder... we know Middle Stone Age people performed rituals and believed they came from the python and worshiped it as much as 70,000 years ago. Apparently mankind has believed it came from something else since long before Adam and Eve supposedly lived. So, yes, I think it's possible the belief in something of a higher power will probably be around for a while to come (what you're calling a long-lasting fad).

The Trinity is not at all polytheistic: the Christian Trinity is ONE GOD, absolutely united and of one identical essence, substance and nature.
The Abrahmic Prophets(PBUT) never spoke against the Trinity.
If you are speaking about Mohammed(PBUH),only Muslims think that he is an Abrahamic Prophet and his teaching are against the teachings of the Christian Prophets(PBUT)

Trinity is a unity of persons in only one God. I hope that clears it all before anybody could answer your question. One wrong premise and your bases and proceedings to arrive at a conclusion is faulty.
Cheer up brother! From the darkness and obscurity of ignorance and lack of knowledge there'll be Light. God loves you and wants to reveal Himself to you as such.

Abraham is the one who tied his son to an altar and was all set to stab him on God's command, right?
To answer your question it was about 6,000 years. But I wouldn't listen to any prophet affiliated with that guy!
