Three dogs
One is Aussie/Irish Setter looking mix, One is Golden Retriever/Anatolian Shepherd looking mix and the third is an American Pit Bull Terrier.
They all get along great because they are all socialized to each other and other animals/people and of course, to each other.
They are kept happy with good diet, lots of toys, treats that are healthy (mostly) and daily walks.
All went through basic obedience classes and all are spayed which seems to help in not having times when they might naturally be more moody towards each other.
I got Easy Walk Harnesses for them (made by Gentle Leader) which are self restraining and when well-fitted, are a great aid to walking strong breeds/puppies and adults.
Mines are all rescues, too. Glad you are there for your dogs! Sounds like they live in a fun place and I am sure they are very, very happy.

I have 4 dogs of my own. Usually a 5th dog as a foster. All are Labrador Retrievers and all are rescues that we have adopted. Because they are all large dogs, walks can be hard, because I have a large fenced in backyard, sometimes a little exercise before the walks helps immensely. But because the pack is large, with 3 females and 2 males. I establish boundaries everytime a new foster is introduced into the pack. Training in any household with just one dog is essential from the beginning. Start with basic commands one on one with each puppy just a couple of minutes a day. then work with them together as they get older. The most important thing to remember before you go for a walk is to make ALL the dogs sit calmly at the door as you go through it FIRST. To get this notion clear in my dogs heads I practiced it going through every single door inside the house! By doing this you are taking control of the situation from the beginning.
We do not have any problems with any of our dogs getting along as all have been spade or nuetered and that does decrease the dominance issue. The other is because it is pretty clear to all our dogs that I am the alpha! good luck and a big thank you for choosing rescue dogs and saving lives!

I have 3 American Eskimo Dogs. All of them are rescues. Up until last year I had a Shep mix which made 4 dogs all together. But he passed away from old age.
For the most part all 3 of them get along pretty well. All of them are male. My Toy Eskie will occasionally pick on my Mini Eskie which can lead to a major rumble......but they have never actually hurt each other. I have to take them down to go potty seperately as they need to be out on a leash because the yard it not fenced in. My Toy will not go outside or for walks with my Mini or he will pick a fight. He does love to go for walks with my Standad Eskie. But I usually either take them for walks seperately or 2 at a time.
Making them happy is pretty easy as they love doing anything with Mom!!! Even if it is just lounging around the house!

I have two, a 13 year old yellow lab mix female, and a 2 year old lab/german shepherd mix male. Both are rescue dogs. They get along great with each other, with our cats, and the female is great with my daughter. The male I have to keep an eye on, since he tends to rumble if she gets too close. As long as they're with me, they're sooo happy. When I walk them I use a splitter, so I just have one leash to deal with.
My mom, on the other hand, has 8 dogs currently. Three are foster dogs, one is a Leader Dog for the Blind puppy, and the rest are pets. There are: Jake, Cougar, Asia, Troy, and Amos, all Labs, Snickers the German Shepherd, Sammi the cattle dog mix, and Rosco the Rottie/Mountain dog mix. Jake, Cougar, and Asia are the foster dogs, and Troy is the LD pup. Sammi, Snickers, and Rosco are rescue dogs; the only one that was purchased from a breeder was Amos (a birthday present for Mom...he's a hunter, and she'd lost her hunting dog a couple years before). The females have to be kept seperate, since they will fight, and Amos always tries to be alpha male, so he has to be watched as well. With the fenced in yard that's about 2 acres in size, they have room to run during their play times.

Fourteen but three are new puppies. All are Dachshunds except one, he is a Miniature Pinscher. All but one Dachshund is a wirehair, the last one is a smooth coated mini.
I also do Dachshund rescue and currently have 5 rescues.
I don't walk mine, I have over an acre and they have free run of the property and doggy doors to come inside. When we moved, the dogs were all put into their crates in my van and moved that way. If I have to take a couple to the Vet, the standards will be on leash, the mini's in a crate. They all get along with the occasional squabble just like siblings. They love it when I go out to play with them, rub tummies, invite them to join me on the sofa..... We spend a lot of time together.

I have 3 dogs, 1 male yellow Lab, 1 female black Lab and 1 male Pit Bull. They all get along GREAT the male Pit Bull and male Lab adore each other and are inseperable. But they adore one another they all play together and there is no fighting.
I keep them happy by LOTS of walks, one on one time, play time, they each get their favorite toys or bones. but more importantly they all need love and TLC and that makes them happier than anything else. But the exercise the walks together everyday is the most important, All of them are extremely well leashed trained thanks to the Gentle Leader or head halter. Like you I have horses and when I found out about the Gentle leader it made so much sense. The Gentle Leader or Head Halti is like a halter on a horse, it gives you a great deal of control over the dog. I trained all my dogs to walk on it and have proper leash manners by themselves first. After they all had it down walking all three was never a problem. All their obedience was taught seperately so they all have all their obedience down with out it I could not imagine taking them places all together. My male Lab who is my baby and all my dog weighs 110 Lbs , my Pit Bull who was my brother's dog (my brother past away and now I care for him) is 93 Lbs and the female Lab who is actually my boyfriends is 80Lbs. But I do all the care and having 3 dogs that size out of control would be chaos.

I have 4 dogs.
A Giant Schnauzer, two Giant Schnoodles (Giant Shcnauzer and a Royal Standard Poodle.), and a mutt.
After the established the pecking order they all got along.
Basically, with all the care they need. We treat them just as you would children by giving them all the same amount of attention and doing group activities with all of them.
After a walk attempting to walk all of them at the same time we decided it was best to take each one one at a time. Everyone gets their turn and they rotate each week.
I also ride horses but I only bring the Giant Schnauzer as two of them are only 2 years old and still misbehaved and the mutt doesn't like other stranger dogs and some other small animals, although she loves my pet pig.

Two
German Shephed (Otis) and Border Mix (Cody)
Otis is a puppy and picks on Cody because she is older. Sometimes they play, but Cody doesn't have a lot of energy.
I don't let Otis pick on Cody. Otis runs every morning for an hour and plays fetch whenever I am home, but Cody is a rescue and has issues. She is scared to go walking and doesn't like fetch. Otis has many chew toys to occupy his mind. He is crated when I am not home to keep him safe.
We put them in the back seat of our SUV. Cody doesn't like the car and she freaks out, so she is given tranquilizers before a long ride. Otis is very quiet in the car.
