it isn't uncommon to see anti-immigrants claiming that if we started making pay every employer for hiring the undocumented then most undocumented would go back to their countries . however even if that was true i do not see how would that fix anything when it comes to those undocumented who do not pay taxes and their suggestion makes me think that they believe most undocumented actually pay taxes ( are on the books ) ( i would agree with the second most do ) ...

so my question would be do u agree or not that it only would affect those undocumented who pay taxes and whether or not u believe than most actually do pay taxes therefor most would leave ????

note : those who do not work at all would not be affected either .... would enforcement only be the best solution????

That is so true. The undocumented who pay taxes will be the first to go, because they are the ones being targeted. How else will they (I.C.E. or INS) know that they're here? I believe that there are far more, I'd say about 70% of those undocumented that do pay their taxes that those who don't. If you're undocumented and get paid under the table then you're essentially "hiding". So, the ones who are trying to do good, and get an ITIN and pay their taxes will be hauled away. That sucks. I personally don't think this will ever happen but if it does it will be a shame because then we, (USA) will know just how necessary they were.

Nice try with your euphemisms pal. Replace every usage of the word undocumented with the term "Illegal Alien" and you'll be getting close to a descriptive stance of who these people are. Also, nobody I know is anti-immigrant. This is a nation of immigrants you idiot. Anti ILLEGAL immigration is something every naturalized and birthright citizen of this nation should be trying to put an end to. Also, your assumption that people who are here illegally pay taxes that they know damn good and well they don't have to pay is an assertion that can not be backed up by any statistics whatsoever. Would you pay taxes if you knew you didn't have to? Just admit you're for open borders and dissolution of American sovereignty to feed the poverty stricken masses brought about by one of the most corrupt governments on the planet...Mexico's government.

funny, just reading the answers and see how may no votes the anti- illegal stances got. You can't break the law, make lame excuses and then censor those you are robbing and expect to get away with it forever. It won't change our opinions or the facts.

Most illegals do pay taxes and many file 1040s.. The IRS issues >1.5 million Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers every year and they know and we know that the majority of these #s are to illegals and their dependants.

And yes I pay income taxes and I filled the 1040 and ITIN.

And what you say is Truth and Not an insult to Legals.

Edit Randy B if you believe that most illegals do not pay taxes than why do you want to punish the illegals who do?
I would rather Help illegals get legal with the IRS and at least do the right thing there. Isn't it contraproductive to going after employers and making it harder for illegals to get ITINs?

Analysis of the latest Census data indicates that Arizona’s illegal alien population is costing the state’s taxpayers about $1.3 billion per year for education, medical care and incarceration.

Even if the estimated tax contributions of illegal alien workers are subtracted, net outlays still amount to about $1.3 billion per year. The annual fiscal burden borne by Arizonans amounts to more than $700 per household headed by a native-born resident.

As this will note, other significant costs associated with illegal aliens exist and should be taken into account by federal and state officials. But even without accounting for all of the multitude of areas in which costs are being incurred by Arizona taxpayers, the programs analyzed in this study indicate that the burden is substantial and that the costs are rapidly increasing.

The $1.3 billion in costs incurred by Arizona taxpayers is comprised of outlays in the following areas:

Education. Based on estimates of the illegal alien population in Arizona and documented costs of K-12 schooling, Arizonans spend approximately $820 million annually on education for illegal alien children and for their U.S.-born siblings.

Health Care. Uncom-pensated medical outlays for health care provided to the state’s illegal alien population is now estimated at about $400 million a year.

Incarceration. The cost of incarcerating illegal aliens in Arizona prisons and jails amounts to about $80 million a year (not including the monetary costs of the crimes that led to their incarceration).

The illegal alien population pays some state and local taxes that go toward offsetting these costs, but they do not come near to matching the expenses. The total of such payments might generously be estimated at $257 million per year. ***********

The fiscal costs of illegal aliens do not end with these three major cost items. The total costs of illegal aliens to the state’s taxpayers would be considerably higher if other costs such as special English instruction, school nutrition programs, or welfare benefits for American workers displaced by illegal alien workers were added into the equation.

So your answer is no. most are not paying taxes they owe and there is no surplus in my state .I have the facts and figures for other states that have a huge concentration of illegal aliens .

Also the few that are on the "books" are not paying enough to overide the cost of those that are paid in cash for thier work ..and thus only pay state and local sales taxes and not federal or state income taxes..the state sales taxes are not enough to make up the for the money the states have to pay because of the illegal aliens. The illegal aliens do not pay their way as gameover whould have you believe, they are a drain on the city, state and federal government always costing more than they can ever pay.....

TIN #s are for business owners and self employed people and the majority of TINs
belong to legal selfemployed people
not for illegal aliens..
I am a business owner so I know .
