I'm planning on buying 2 TV within the next couple of months. I did a lot of research but I want people's recommendations. I'm looking for 1 small TV ( 20 to 24 inch) and one big one (27 to 32 inch) at a reasonable price, between $500 to $1000. I'm NOT planning to buy any Westinghouse TV. Bought one a few weeks ago but had to return it because the audio didn't sync with the video, meaning the sound lag behind by 2 seconds to the picture, which go very annoying. There was some bad reviews on Westinghouse tvs and a few people had the same problem that I did. Any good brands besides Westinghouse?

AVOID Westinghouse, ILO, VIZIO, Polaroid, OLEVIA, and ANY BRAND NAME that is NEW.....(just appeared on the market in the last 5 years)

Sure they are cheap, but NO PARTS to repair them at all...

You really want a brand that has been out there for 15 years or more....
They are servicable, and have better technology designed into them.
They are WORTH the money.

SONY is the BEST LCD you can get, but Toshiba, Hitachi and Samsung do make RELIABLE TVs too....

Sony and Sharp are the two names known for the best image quality for displays, and I would pick Samsung, Panasonic, or LG over Phillips and Toshiba.
Last month i need to buy a tv, i spend much time searching on line. I have found a 20 inch Panasonic tv,

But i think it is too small..
I bought a Samsung 32 inch LCD HDTV at last. Just installed this TV in my bedroom and its impressive! I'm more than happy with my purchase. I read many good reviews and they were all correct. Many mentioned the sound was poor, but I can't agree with that. Maybe its because I was used to something that was truly poor, but (while I do realise the sound in other tv's will be superior) I can't see any problems with this models sound. I bought it for $849 instead of $978. It is still on sale now. If you are intersted in this one, here is the link to the deal i found.

Hope this helps.

You can't go wrong with SONY, No1 sales still worldwide. Very reliable! And with their new Motion Flow Technology to make movement smoother, they look fantastic.

Then I'd put SAMSUNG a close second.

Samsung make the panel for Sony LCDs anyway, so along with their bright screens, great viewing angles, high contrasts, and stylish looks, they too have a great product!

Sometimes it just comes down to which one you think looks the best, picture wise or design wise??

So hard to say which is better, but I would personally buy in this order: SONY, SAMSUNG, PANASONIC, SHARP

All the best.

Cost benefit analysis. Assign a score based on the performance and features important to you. Then divide the score by the cost of the tv. Score / Cost = Highest the winner. I picked Samsung and I am very happy with it.

Weve purchased about 3 Westinghouse tv's and no problems whatsoever. The picture is a great quality, and sound worked great.
