This would have been a spectacular fight, the number 3 & 4 middleweights of all time. A lot of people are going to disagree with me on this one, but I like Monzon over Hopkins. I don't think Bernard's defense would have been equal to Monzon's jab and activity level and believe Carlos would have out boxed Bernard. Hopkins was never a one punch KO artist, he always relied on attrition and Monzon's chin and defensive skill would have presented some interensting problems for Bernard. Monzon was much more agressive than Wink and his defense was almost as good.

Carlos Monzon by close and controversial decision.

Hopkins rather beat boxers that weren't so speedy and/or depended on punching potential ,yet have a difficulty with slick boxers with footwork and quickly palms like Joe Calzaghe ,Jermaine Taylor ,and a considerable Roy Jones Jr. ,so Bernard Hopkins beat boxers that weren't so speedy and relied lots on potential like Felix Trinidad ,Antonio Tarver ,and Kelly Pavlik ,and Carlos Monzon had a form that became maximum comparable to theirs. Bernard Hopkins by ability of gentle UD.

Hopkins by UD, Hopkins would use his great defense and movement to offset all of Monzon's weapons. I don't care what anyone says Hopkins is clearly the 3rd best Middleweight of all time behind only the great Hagler, and Robinson.

That's should be great match. Bernard Hopkins will take advantage of his height and longer reach to out jab the great Carlos Monzon.
So its Hopkins by unanimous decision.

hopkins the 3rd best middleweight of all time? r u krazy? mustafa hamsho would have given him fight of his life. he is not on the level of hagler, lamotta, robinson, monzon, zale, etc. monzon would win 12 out of 15 rds. in dec.
