It's currently light blue but I hate it and it looks quite dirty.. I wouldn't mind having two colours.. I'd appreciate any suggestions.

paint the wall near your bed a dark navy blue color and the other walls an off white/brownish color. depending on the color of your carpet, I'm assuming you have a neutral beige color, most people do, find a slightly darker beige/brown than the color of the floor to paint your trim. (ps. your door should be the same color as your trim so make sure it fits well with your wall colors and doesn't contrast too much or you'll hate it) a latex eggshell finish is great for walls because you can wash it and it's not too shiny and a semi-gloss latex is great for trim because it is the most water resistant for when you need to get the dust build-up off the floor and fingerprints off the door.

you can get paint swatches for free and samples of paint from your home improvement store for about $3.00 a bottle and test the colors with the lighting in your room for the best color combo.

and best of all - lowe's has software you can purchase for less than $10.00 (I believe) that lets you use a picture of your room and change the colors of the walls and trim to get an idea of what you'd like.

good luck and the best advice when painting---slow and steady will win the race.

What does your floor look like? Something to match the carpet or neutrals in greens, beiges, whites, etc. Then add a contrasting/complimentary color for punch.

How about a light green, something like Sherwin Williams' "sprout," and use either "baize green" or "evergreens" as the second color.
