Four different definitions of "fact" from Dictionary.com...
1. something that actually exists; reality; truth: Your fears have no basis in fact.
2. something known to exist or to have happened: Space travel is now a fact.
3. a truth known by actual experience or observation; something known to be true: Scientists gather facts about plant growth.
4. something said to be true or supposed to have happened: The facts given by the witness are highly questionable.
None of them suggest the distinction between opinion and fact you suggested...the third definition allow experience and observation to establish facts and the fourth allows testimony (something someone said) to establish a fact (other witnesses give "facts" that are NOT highly questionable...they have credibility). The first two definitions establish a fact as something that actually happened...however, neither of them define the method by which you arrive at that conclusion.
I found the second especially interesting. Space travel is a fact...that example clearly indicates that we can rely on the things we read and the experiences of others in establishing something as a fact. I have never traveled in space so I can't possibly know it is a fact unless I trust the media and the scientists and the governments that share their evidence with me!
How do I know God is real? Because I believe the bible is the truth...the reality of my life, my experiences, my observations, and what I've heard from witnesses I deem credible all confirm the fact of God's existence. The bible clearly satisfies the fourth definition of the term "fact" because it consists of the testimony of dozens of witnesses who all testify to the existence of God.

Let me ask you a question Had you rather go thru life believing there was a God , die, and find out there wasn't, of go thru life believing there wasn't a God, die, and find out there WAS. I know which I've picked.
Also, the Bible isn't fiction. It was written by many men who were alive at different times. They all told the same storys and had the same predictions given to them by God. Read your Bible, believe in Him and I hope I see you there.

You know, given the nature of infinity, I think that our laws of physics and mathematics are just "local phenomena." Meaning, basically, our sense of physics and math are not the same throughout the universe.
Based on that alone, not only do you have a million monkeys that have already (re) written the collected works of Shakespeare and toaster ovens ejecting from black holes, and 2+2 not equaling four, you necessarily have a divine being. That is, if you believe in an infinite universe. If you believe in a finite universe, then all bets are off. Then, faith is as good as it gets .

Look at the sky. Is that an opinion? Look at the mountains and the ocean. Is that on opinion? God created Heaven and Earth. I have a heart. I cant see it,but I know it's there. I have faith in God. Faith is believing what you cant see. There's also the fact that I'm not the one that has to prove to you that God exists. It's up to you to prove to me that He doesnt. Your turn.

Hmm, I'm not a believer of God, but prove he doesn't (don't use the failures of the Bible as an example, either).
This question goes both ways - enter the paradox.
Oh, and seeing "it's true to you" like the above just means you'll be more delusional then the next person. It's not universal if it's not true for all

God proves Himself in peoples' hearts and lives, individually.
By the way, you DO know that you posted this as "followed by my last question," right? Are you some kind of time-traveller, perhaps?

just throwing this out there: saying "prove he doesn't exist" is not a legitimate argument. you cannot definitively say something is true because it cannot be disproved.
in addition, "god created the universe, therefore he exists" or arguments to that effect are in fact not arguments. they are almost backwards as logical statements
