When you characterize it as a "weak excuse," you do us an injustice. I find a great deal of peace in realizing that I can leave the world better off for my having been here. I have something to contribute. But I don't say this as "faith" in the absence of evidence. I know that I have had an effect, made a contribution already. I also know that I retain much of the knowledge and skills that allowed me to make those contributions, so I can reasonably expect to continue to be useful. Furthermore, I have a community that is prepared to make good use of what I can contribute.
I belong to the Ethical Society of St. Louis. We have projects involved in trying to improve the ethics and the conditions of the people around us, and of the larger world. We do so not because any deity told us to, but because we have reasoned it out that cooperation and compassion are appropriate ways to bring about a better life for ourselves and those we love.

To be fulfilled and live a happy life. We only have one life, we do not look forward to death or the end of the world so some mambo jumbo will come down with a sword and bring us to his imaginary sky paradise created by his imaginary sky daddy which happen to be himself.
Now what is a theist's pathetic excuse to live other then to hope to die and be sucking up to their sky daddy for eternity?
------------
Just a note ..... if you believed in any god/gods or any form, you are a theist. If you don't you are an atheist. If you are a coward to believe or disbelieve anything but still think you are the correct one because you think you are neutral, then you are an agnostic.
Logically, you can either be positive or negative, but you can never be neutral. For agnostic, they are either positive or negative, but a cowardice when it come to admitting it. If you say show me proof of a sky daddy, then you are an atheist, if you say show me proof there is no sky daddy, then you are a theist. If you say, show me proof of either, then you are a coward.
----------
Some Christians also call themselves as people with NO religion, because they believe the "truth" and they are not a religion, they do not follow any denomination other then Jesus.
Now, tell me Christianity is not a religion.
If you believe god in general sense, then you are a theist, no matter which god. If you do not have an belief in any god, then you are an atheist. Since you find atheists lack of excuse for living, then you must be a theist, because all theist has the same view (It is not generalisation. They become a theist because they find something else worth living for and hence find atheist not worth living. Tell me a theist who does not believe what he is living for is the correct way)

I'll answer your first one first cos that's what interested me.
I didn't realise a funny foolish fundie child was gonna go all judgmental on people he knows nothing about except for what his parasitic priests, pastors, padres, parsons and other breeds of leech-like preachers have said.
I find peace in a my mind which is uncluttered by dreams, visions, thoughts and other inane insanities of invisible, imaginary swooping sky thingies who threaten to send people to hell if they don't suck up to him.
"my typing is horrendus[sic]!"
No; your typing is fine BUT your mind is a mess; filled with judgmental and primitive superstitions that would feel quite at home during the Salem witch 'trials' or within the cultural beliefs of the Aztecs or Incas or Neanderthal man contemplating fire for the first time.
Parts of your brain stem are quite active.
Yeah, I've done a bit of judgmental onya but then, I don't profess to believe in 'gods' who say I shouldn't.
"What's their weak exuse[sic] for even bothering to live life?"
What a horrible child you are; I'll bet your parents, as well as your pretend god who you made in your image, are quite proud of the insanity they’ve produced.
As I said up there, my mind is uncluttered with the BS you learnt in Sunday school.
Therefore, I am free; you are enslaved.
I should ask you "why do you even bother living?"

My excuse for bothering to live is that I believe this is the only life I have, and that when it is over I will exist only in the hearts and minds of those I touch. I live my life so that my legacy may be one of love and understanding. I don't find this to be a "weak" excuse at all.
My peace in life comes from those I love, and learning about the universe around me. To ask your question in such an agressive way you must be lacking the peace you are asking about. I hope you find it some day.

Buh! What is the purpose of life in any religion? When it comes down to it, life never has meaning without taking for granted the existence of the entities that they propose made you. That is, regardless of what religion you look at, life is merely defined by the desires of the gods, and has no inherent meaning.
I find peace in being able to get through life by own merits, not God's. being able to feel, being able to think, being able to hope for a world where there is less pain, where there is less weakness, heartache, sadness, and senseless, myopic confrontations and bloodshed. A world that is not a confusing cacophony of miscommunication. A world that could be this one. And, in the meantime, I try to help people live better lives, to find happiness that I myself cannot, all while looking off at death, so thoroughly analyzed that his power has gone for me. His coming will be but my escape, a less than ideal fulfillment of my dreams, but at least giving me rest....

We find peace in many things, both natural and man made. We do NOT find peace in any so called god because they ALL seem to espouse murder and sacrifice. We find peace in most of the same things you do, we just don't say that peace is caused by a god.
As for a reason to live life, to find out what's going to happen tomorrow is as good as any.
Really, you sound like such a religious bigot!

This atheist finds peace in money (answerereth all things) and in Corona Extra in the clear glass bottle (take a little wine for thy stomach's sake), but beer works just as well and my neighbors don't call me Wino.

As a middleman, I would suggest they'd find it in their own false sense of individuality.
Versus religious people that depend on a god for "peace," Atheist may "depend" on the opposite.
I, of the middle, depend on absolutely nothing and all beliefs are merely the illusory mind of an ordinary person (thumbs down from both sides)
Oh wait, the truth! They, like religious people foolishly believe, think they know the truth! Well, just sounds like another religion spouting off crap, to me! Both sides are wrong, neither of you are wrong, you're both right, neither of you are right
