- What might we see or hear?
- If we have this disorder how would it make us feel or think differently than someone who is not struggling with it?

Personally, I find it hard to see Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) in any child, unless they are an adolescent. People don't develop a fully formed and integrated personality until they are about 12 years or older. Many behaviors in BPD are immature childish behaviors.
One sign is manipulative behavior, often pathological lying, in order to get what they want. They will twist anything you have to say to make you feel guilty for not giving them what they want.
There is constant attention-seeking behavior. BPDs want to maintain and rivet everyone's attention on them. They want to be the center and they want everyone to seek to serve them or make them feel good.
Many have hyochondriacal tendencies, feigning illnesses to get people's attention. Some get quite good at it, even faking heart attacks or pregnancies. Some die because they cried "wolf" so often.
Sometimes there are attempts of suicide, again to get attention.
They are very emotionally labile, going frm a happy state to a depressed state very quickly, usually situation dependent.
Treatment for BPD sometimes looks like treatment for a variety of other psychiatric problems because different psychiatric problems may accompany the disease. I have seen people with BPD treated for schizophrenia, depression, and of course anxiety disorder, anger management, etc. They eventually need every treatment under the sun.
I hope that answered all your questions. I think if you read it carefully you will see the answer to each of your points.

Anything that appear overwhelmingly or underwhelmingly different, meaning that of unstabilty. If you see more or less traits or emotions rather that the normal or usual amount that would be needed. About your third question, it would all depend. But mostly the person stuggling will feel at a lose, and deal with it with how ever their disorder inclines them to do, get angry or depressed.

Edit: I obviously didnt give the most sophisticated answer... oh well 2pts

In my case, my BPD resulted from very controlling, abusive, you never do anything right parents as well as a rape from which my then boyfriend decided to break up after. I have lots of control issues. I don't like to be in situations that I can not control. I have anxiety attacks. I can be very manipulative and am very good at getting my own way. BPD's sometimes feels that everything bad is directed at them. They often take things the wrong way if being lectured to.
