if a common friend suggested that u and ur girlfriend (of 9 months) get matching tattoes and she said "its permanent u know" and then ur friend looks at u guys and says "so arent u guys" and she just stays quiet....

As a guy I would definitely wonder if she were commited to the relationship making a statement like that!
That said, are they supposed to be in a commited relationship???? They have only been together for 9 months, a tattoo is for life, they might not be as tight as they appear!!!
Time for a serious talk establish the level of commitment I think :-)

i would NOT get the tattoo --- i have nothing against them per se i just am not into permanently marking myself --- and besides its not really anyone else's business what we do --- so i would not be worried i would dismiss the suggestion in a nice way --- permanent is like kicking an addiction --- day by day --- and then you wonder where the last 30 years have gone ---- best wishes

I don't think she was trying to say she doesn't love you or that she doesn't think you guys will match, but she's got a point. Tatoos are almost entirely permanent and if you ever were to decide that you didn't want "Brenda" tatooed on your butt (extreme example, I know) it would be very expensive and painful to get rid of.
However, if she hushed up when asked if you guys were permenant... hmmmm... you should really ask her about that...

Don't do it, she doesn't want to and that question put her in an awkard position hoping you'll save her. don't get the tattos, what if you break up? and she definetly does NOT want to .

Dude, just cause she doesn't want to have your name written in ink on her forever doesn't mean she doesn't care for you.
She probably stayed quiet because she felt bad about sort of implying you guys were going to fall apart.

i think she is being sensible...after all if we all got matching tatoos with each girlfriend/boyfriend then we wouldnt have any skin to show!! think carefully...i know a couple who fight because he got a tatoo done with his now ex girlfriend!!
