Mickey having looked at your Q&A I fear you are beyond social work intervention, if I were you I would try mental health or probation.

Due to not knowing your location I cannot advise if your area has these volunteer groups.

The group is called an Advisory group these people will talk to you and they will find you a suitable person to partner you up with. These partners are people who have also struggled, got through life in all different ways and are volunteers to help.

Go to your local community centre and they should be able to advise you if they hold one of these groups.

If you are unfortunate to not have one of these groups get your phone book and ring the volunteer groups that most fit your criteria/problems.

My experience of social workers is not a good one and I would suggest steer clear if you can

Good luck!!

Unfortunately you don't get to pick your own social worker, one is assigned to you. If you really have a problem with whoever is assigned to you, you can request that they are replaced.

You need to contact your local social services to be assigned one.

And you're expecting what, precisely? Someone to pop all your problems in a bag and walk away with them so you don't have to? Are there none you can sort out yourself before you call for help?
