let me tell you the truth. Originally, hot dogs are served hot and there was this white women who was specialised in making "hot dogs". She was alone with a dog in her house and one day while she was preparing hot dogs, the dog came in the room for the first time. They were real close that they spend a lot of time playing together, that day the dog took one hot dog and because it was hot, the woman was trying to take it from the dog cos she was thinking the dog is gonna burn and die.

So the woman took a big spoon that was nearby but to this, the dog thought she wanted to beat him. The dog ran outside and the woman was chasing him shouting "hot, hot" dog" hot dog" hot dog" while she was having one in the other hand by mistake. The neighbours came running and saw her with a hot dog in the hand, they all asked her what was the problem but because she was so scared of her dog to die, she was just shouting "hot, hot" "dog, dog." The neighbours just asked her if that was the new name for the "hot dog" in her hand then they all laughed their lungs out. From there whenever they see this woman, they have to ask her if she got some "hot dogs". This is where the name was originated long time back and this is a true story.

The term "dog" has been used as a synonym for sausage since at least 1884 ('A sausage-maker...is continually dunning us for a motto. The following, we hope, will suit him to a hair: "Love me, love my dog."') and accusations that sausage-makers used dog meat date to at least 1845 ("Dogs...they retails the latter, tails and all, as sassenger meat.")[9]

According to a popular myth, the use of the complete phrase "hot dog" in reference to sausage was coined by the newspaper cartoonist Thomas Aloysius "TAD" Dorgan ca. 1900 in a cartoon recording the sale of hot dogs during a New York Giants baseball game at the Polo Grounds.[9] However, TAD's earliest usage of "hot dog" was not in reference to a baseball game at the Polo Grounds, but to a bicycle race at Madison Square Garden, in the December 12 and December 13, 1906 editions of The New York Evening Journal dated December 12, 1906, by which time the term "hot dog" in reference to sausage was already in use.[10][9]

The earliest usage of "hot dog" in clear reference to sausage found by Barry Popik appeared in the 28 September 1893 edition of The Knoxville Journal.[10]

It was so cool last night that the appearance of overcoats was common, and stoves and grates were again brought into comfortable use. Even the weinerwurst men began preparing to get the "hot dogs" ready for sale Saturday night.

—28 September 1893, Knoxville (TN) Journal, "The [sic] Wore Overcoats," pg. 5

Another early use of the complete phrase "hot dog" in reference to sausage appeared on page 4 of the October 19, 1895 issue of The Yale Record: "they contentedly munched hot dogs during the whole service."[10

i think the "hot" comes from the mustard that originally went on sausages. Dont know why sausages are called dogs though.

In any given situation, focus on what you do want your dog to do instead of on whatever he’s doing wrong. Learn how to train your dog https://tr.im/zLXs2

For example, suppose that on many evenings, your young dog gets busy looking for trouble just as you’re digesting your dinner. He grabs a boot from the mat by the front door and gallops through the house with it. You yell at him and take it away. He grabs its mate. You yell and take it away. He heads for the kitchen and starts checking out the counters in case something tasty’s been left behind. You chase him away. And on and on, until you’ve lost your temper and torn out clumps of hair you can ill afford to lose.
