There are no easy answers with a baby in the house. You will eventually adjust. Do the best you can. Good luck. Don't give up. It might even help to help with the baby. Again, good luck. If this is a short term "problem" such as a visiting baby, then you are out of luck. You'll do what you have to do. Be patient and loving. Be respectful. Expect the same of the parents who are under stress as well.

You cannot catch up on sleep. Any sleep, like time, that is lost is simply gone. Taking naps will help. Doing nothing but taking naps is a bad idea. It is the mind that requires sleep. The body requires only rest and not sleep.

You may be over stating the problem. With a baby you might be up several times during the night. You will not be up all night.

The way you state "going to be a baby in the house" I am not sure if the baby is yours.???

Try to have a nap during the afternoon, even if it's only for 2 hours or so to catch up if possible. In the meantime, try to adjust your sleep patterns in preperation for the new born. Good luck x
