I'm going to buy an SUV next Friday. I don't know what kind I should buy. Do you own one? If so, please tell if you like it or not, and why.
I need one large enough for a large dog to fit comfortably in the back.

I'd recommend a Ford Escape, Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander Nissan Murano, etc. Not too big, not too small, decent fuel economy, and the Ford and Toyota are available with a hybrid powertrain.

I own two., a 2007 Chevy Suburban LT with 2nd and 3rd row benches for a total of 8-tight passengers or 7 comfortable and a 2008 Escalade with Bucket seats for a total of 6-passengers. Both are great SUVs, the ride is comfortable, and driving them is divine. unlike sedans, you feel like your above everyone else, the king of the road.
I recommend the Suburban/Yukon XL or ESV for the large cargo area without removing the 3rd row seat., these are 22-inches longer than the Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade which are known as the "compact ones".
If you don't mind removing the 3rd row seat on them, then the compact ones are good for you.
In Gasoline consumption, the Suburban and Tahoe with Flex Fuel are the best of all the GM SUVs, half a tank will get you from Orlando to Kingsland, Ga. which is a 158-miles per way ride. You can also use Ethanol 85 on these. The Suburban is perfect for long trips.
A full tank on the Suburban last me a full week (7-days) driving 30-miles every day., while the Escalade will last me only 3-days doing the very same thing. The Escalade is a beautiful luxury vehicle, it commands attention and respect from others but Is not a economical SUV as filling the tank cost me $85.00 @ $2.59 per gallon.

Buying new or used ? Are u concerned with fuel economy ?
I like Nissan pathfinders 2002 and 2003. Forerunners are also a good product they are reliable and get decent fuel economy.

I like the armada suv . I cant remember who it is made by though. I believe it is nissan . Love those nissans !!!!
