I have a week to lose a bit of weight and have started on the slimfast shakes which are actually quite tasty. Anyone find slimfast effective in a short period of time?? any tips?

yes i have used it in the past, it is effective, same as any other calorie controlled diet is, as long as u dont cheat. i found it good as not having to think what to make for breakfast or lunch i didnt think about food so much and they are filling. as long as u have fruit snacks and a healthy meal in the evening u should lose weight and be healthy. good luck.

Unfortunately, no. I used it for about 2 months and even with using slimfast and exercising, I did not see an improvement. Although, the slimfast drinks are quite effective. I actually saw better results with the Special K diet, which you use for 2 weeks and you could lose a pant size or 2 in just 2 weeks. It worked for me, but it is not quite as healthy as the slimfast diet. Eating healthy and exercising is the best way to go to get longterm results.

There are three main ways to lose weight quickly.

1) Use only water as liquid and eliminate all other liquid drinks from your diet. You must drink as much water as possible every day. You must drink about half of your weight. If you have weight of 200 pounds then you must drink about 100 oz of water.

2) The interval between the eating is very important. If you eat once, then you must eat next after 4 hours. You must take breakfast regularly. In the night eat your food three hours before going to bed.

3) Walking is very good. You must walk as much as you can. Walk everywhere you can. Use of elevators and escalators must be reduced and instead of these you must climb stairs more often.

These are some of the fastest ways to lose weight. By just following the simple steps, you can lose your weight very quickly. You must consult your doctor if want to change your diet or exercise routine.

Slimfast, I hate to have to break it to you, is mostly sugar. Sugar and milk. And Milk when broken down has a LOT of sugar in it. This is why it is so tasty! If you need to lose weight seriously, in the short time, you can loose water weight.
Buy yourself some WHEY powder, this isn't as nasty as soy. And whey powder, while it is milk, has had all the sugar removed. It is pure protein. Okay? Add fruit for your flavoring--best being your berries for low carb and high vitamin C. Add Water, yes, dear I said water. If you can't stand it without some sweetner, add splenda. NO NUTRASWEET, because it will tailspin your metabolism back to zero and you will stop loosing weight.

Lunch: Protein, no bread at all.
no lunch meats, no bacon unless turkey. Salad, dress it up!
no croutons, cheese, and everything in moderation.

Dinner,
Veggies, Be inventive, learn to read labels, no corn syrup on anything. Cream sauces, okay. Pasta, alright within MODERATION--size of your plam of your hand. Meat, Size preportions, again, should be playing card size, and salad.


Drinks: teas, plenty of good stuff out there...check out all the flavors going on. They exelerate your metabolism, and help you sleep if you get some herbal ones for night time.

Coffee in moderation.

Pop how ever you want to spell it: stop it. Soda Pop if you stop drinking it will make you loose 15lbs asap. Got it? It has more sugar than cake and ice cream combined.

Another Hint: Cinnamon. 500 mg of Cinnamon has the ability to stabolize your sugar in your body, causing to crave less food, craving less food causes you loose more weight.

Just a .o1 How do I know? I used to weigh 240. I now weigh 160, going to 130.
