Home Decorating?

Question

I just got my first apartment its very small its only 418 sq feet. I would like to buy things for it and decorate it but..I dont have any idea where to look...i dont know where to start...help me please

Before you start decorating, buy organizers and things to make all your cabinets and closets look nice. With 428 sq. feet, you will have to be very careful not to get cluttered.

After you get everything in its place, choose light colors and a lot of mirrors to give the illusion of space. Maybe an ocean theme with tans, browns, blues, seashells, creams, etc...

Check out decorating and organizing for small spaces, for a dorm, go for a minimalist effect, so you won't notice the smallness so much.

Since it is very small, use same colors throughout.
Pick your favorite soothing color, and add cream/tan /coffee or white/gray/black for small neutrals.
Say walls are white, carpet is tan, and cabinets are wood.
Add your fav. color in upholstery [ blue/red/gree/purple/etc. ]
For demo, we'll use blue.
Choose drapes/curtains that match walls,furniture, or print of both.
Frame all art [ paintings, posters, photos, etchings, drawingsin same color/material - oak/walnut, brass/chrome, colored enamel. Use same for mirror, or metal accessories.
Get accessories in same [ blue, white, tan, brass ] - throw pillows, lamps, vase/flowerpot, ornaments, candle, holders.
Use same color wood throughout, if possible.

i think you should think over what style you want your home to be, then find a good designer, he/she'll give you many good idears, then you can start your tired but exciting decorating!

do you have windows? start with pretty curtains,,,,,,,,,add some pictures, framed, and some potted plants either live or silk........Bedroom light airy curtains.........framed prints and lots of throw pillows....Good Luck....
