Is America obligated to open its doors to anyone based on the fact that he or she may come from a poor country? I say NO!

WE NEED TO DO WHAT SOME FOREIGN COUNTRIES ARE DOING. THEY PUT QUALIFICATIONS ON ENTRY INTO THEIR COUNTRY. THINGS LIKE: DO YOU HAVE A CRIMINAL RECORD? WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO OFFER THIS COUNTRY, BESIDES YOUR POVERTY? DO YOU HAVE A COLLEGE EDUCATION? DO YOU HAVE NEEDED JOB SKILLS? ARE YOU A PROFESSIONAL? DO YOU SPEAK OUR LANGUAGE? DO YOU HAVE TIES TO TERRORISTS? WHY DO YOU WANT TO LEAVE YOUR COUNTRY?
THEN, IF THEY WELCOME THEM TO THEIR COUNTRY, IT'S ON A PROVISIONAL BASIS. I DON'T GIVE A DAMN WHAT IT SAYS ON THE STATUE OF LIBERTY. WHEN THAT INSCRIPTION WAS PLACED THERE, WE GOT SOME VALUE BACK FROM THE NEW IMMIGRANTS. TODAY, WE GET WELFARE SEEKERS AND TERRORISTS. IT'S GOT TO STOP!
I'LL GO A STEP FURTHER: IF WE COULD ONLY RETROACTIVELY KICK OUT EVERY SINGLE PERSON WHO CAME HERE FROM COUNTRIES THAT PRODUCE TERRORISTS, WE'D DEFINITELY BE A LOT SAFER THAN WE ARE TODAY.

Is America a country ??? America is as much a country as Europe is.
Can I, legaly, live and work in the US ? Yes. Do I ? NO WAY.
Check out a Map, and teach yourself that America is a continent, it include Canada, were I´m from, and by no way I would live in this fascist country named USA.
USA is not the welfare of the world, its the cause of world misery. Your money is drawning and each US have accumulated debts of over $350,000,00. Sounds like near to the next third world country. Stop your barriers, avoid having any new immigrants, they are victims of the US PROPAGANDA, and truly believe USA is a nice place to live. Well, it´s getting worst daily.

i agree with all who posted before me. the us should Not be welfare for the world, BUT our country was founded by immigration, i myself am of french and irish heritage. let those willing to work to a better life come. keep every1 on a level playing field, make all abide by same rules and keep the principles that once made our country the greatest on this earth

Why are you living here. Look at your family tree. ok, i think you question really center around the Iraq War. maybe. It was once said to be truly loved by others in War is to leave the country you are fighting and if you defeat them leave them in better shape then they were before you defeated them. If America would have took this advice in World War I there would have never been World War II. Or the first Iraq War there be no use for the second.

Not obligated at all. The US hands lotteries to many countries for citizenship to the US. Unfortunately there are those who choose to trespass illegally, hence the word "Illegal"

well i say "give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free". yea thats right. i think if someone wants to be an american we should let them. now im not saying we shouldnt have standards. keep out the criminals, terrorists, nationalists, and welfare moochers. but give me the hard workers that want a better life. thats what america was founded on.

Hey if we we're here just to save the poor or those who go through difficult times to get here....then we'd be standing at the shores welcoming the people from Haiti....the people from Africa.....but we aren't. I too want to know why. I CAN save some....why is it just MEXICANS and not others if poverty is the deal?

I dont know the reason why these countries are so damn poor is because the Europeans went around stealing from them like all the Latin countries and Africa, around 3 trillion was stolen from Mexico not billion but trillion, along with most Latin countries and Africa was robbed naked, why do you think its in the state it is the kids there are so skinny and die.
However we should not just have open borders and allow people to just come and be on welfare.
um..mm.......why am I getting thumbs down????????????? E-mail me please or something I am not aware as to why the thumbs down or as to what I did wrong I stated simple historic facts.
