it is most definetly water weight. it can take some 3-4 weeks until a new diet and training program will actually start decreasing body fat.
quite simply the body does not go from a state of fat storage to a state of accelerated fat burning in a weeks time, human biology prohibits that from occurring.
You certainly did not lose any muscle in 2 weeks either.

8 pounds is quite a lot but perhaps your body weight is very evenly distributed and so you've lost a little everywhere instead of it all coming off one particular place....
GOOD ON YOU AND KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
Trust me, you will see results soon, and Im sure that you are feeling good about yourself for having done so well!
If you think you have a negative self-esteem, then you probably do and that is definately something you need to work on, or no-matter how much weight you lose, you will always be unhappy with your body!

You probably lost muscle, which is heavier than fat, and replaced with fat.
Solution - exercise. You need to put muscle on, and that will help you burn off fat.
Negative self esteem is the real problem. Weight lifting will help you make more endorphins, a natural antidepressant. So will volunteer help - I'm serious. Anything you can do to forget yourself and help someone else out will help you realize how wonderful you really are.
Self-esteem should NEVER be based on looks, although the popular society might make you think so. Self-esteem is the quiet satisfaction of knowing that YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH. And dude, I already know that you are good enough. You should believe it, too man. I can not lie.

Well, why are you losing weight? Your 14! The last thing you need to be worrying about is what kind of diet you are on, or how many calories you burnned at the gym.

Other people will notice it before you do! A while back I had lost about 40lbs, I went from 197 to 155 and I myself still didn't notice it but everyone else did. Let me tell ya...I gained about 10lbs back and now I notice that I lost weight then b/c I can tell that I gained it back lol. So yeah others will see it before you do or you will notice it if you gain it back which I'm sure you don't want to do :) Good luck!

It's not like you're going to lose it from just one area. 9 pounds isn't enough to see a difference. Maybe 20 and more would be.

The fact that you see yourself every day is why you can't eyeball results on yourself.
