For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing" (Ecclesiastes 9:5 RSV)
"For the fate of the sons of men and the fate of beasts is the same; as one dies, so dies the other. They all have the same breath, and man has no advantage over the beasts; for all is vanity. All go to one place; all are from the dust, and all turn to dust again." (Ecclesiastes 3:19-20 RSV)
"Brethren, I may say to you confidently of the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.... For David did not ascend into the heavens" (Acts 2:29,34 RSV)
No one has ascended into heaven but He who descended from heaven, the Son of man."
so the Bible says those who are dead have not gone to heaven but are sleeping in the dust! so once again why are so many decieved?? and why is it taught in churches that immediatley after you die you go to heaven or hell???

Because it is a great scam for keeping the peasants in line. It was the foundation that kept the Feudal system working in Europe and once religion has gained all that power it is not likely to give it up.

You forget about the Apocalypse though. At that point the dead will be raised to fight the final battle against the Anti-Christ. Only the victors will be allowed into heaven, assuming the forces of good win the final fight.

Heaven as depicted by Christianity is a sham, and just as you pointed out their own holy book proves it. Personally, I think it is an invention of man to justify all the pain that they can put their fellow man through on Earth. " If you life the horrible life of a peasant now and support the upper class of society and the church, and be a good little boy or girl, then you will be forever rewarded." You will be rewarded with a dirt nap; that's ALL.

I'm not even wasting my time explaining this anymore, since you and no one else will consider the logic in a book written over the span of 1,800 years that could be based more on one person's fantasies and a "fast buck" than anything else.

Not taking into fact that there are literally hundreds of religions in the world, and each claiming it is the one and true religion.

I would say stop wasting your time debating the "good book" and and discover for yourself through life experiences, but I know I'll be ignored.

Here is a bonus question for you -

Do you realise that your opening quote, "For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing" is pretty much a contradiction in itself to everything you are trying to back-up?

- If the dead know nothing, then how could there possibly be an afterlife of any kind, since knowing nothing in this case can be pretty much the same as meaning existence before you were born?
Just for layman's terms - purgatory, a black nothing; no thinking, not knowing, no memories, no body, no consciousness whatsoever.

And even though a lot will disagree with what I said, at least it is enough to make some people stop and check what I have said; and for some, what I have said here will also change some of their beliefs.

Do what ye will, as long as it brings you happiness in life. Nothing else matters.

The bible is a poorly compiled collection of poorly written, poorly translated, heavily revised myths that were originally composed orally by primitive men in the Middle East. As a largely incoherent, frequently contradictory text, the bible does not state anything clearly, not even the archaic dogma and ridiculous myths it purportedly explains and promotes.

Your life would be much better if you began thinking rationally about your own life now rather than consulting such a horribly obsolete fictional text as the bible. There is no credible evidence that there is anything of the individual still existent after the moment of death.

It's not the Bible you have to question but the religion, for instance the Catholic Church they do not say that the Bible is necessary to be read but an option. Satan has joined some truth with his own belief. Sunday is not Sabbath Saturday is Sabbath, Idols can not be tolerated in any measure, No idol is okay don't be deceived. Want the TRUTH read the Bible the older version is more trusted. Satan is re-writing the scriptures to his own bible. Be on alert you only have ONE soul.

Most people don't believe that Jonah was really swallowed by a whale and the Bible says that. People just want proof and knowledge of what will happen. You must remember the bible was written by humans. And live ones at that all humans tend to put a voice into whatever we write even if we don't try we think that we are writing truth but truth only occurs when we believe. So for people to believe in what is written in the Bible they need more than one source but many others and physical proof. If they don't believe its OK let them not believe if you do then that's great but don't trust solely on literal interpretations in the Bible but also think about the figurative language most commonly used during that time period.

You can never fully trust the bible. I believe there is a god. but i dont trust the bible cause god didn't write it and even if he did it was translated wrong.

The reason people are sceptically for life after death is that we have no clue. We dont know if were going to be a ghost we dont know if were going to turn in to an Angel dust or just rot in the ground. If you do believe in heave that is great i do to but nun of us can be sure until were dead.

I Yahchanan (John)3:4—
Whoever commits sin, transgresses also the Law; for
sin is the transgression of the Law.

In this time period, most people desire to be
deceived. If they did not desire deception, they
would believe the Inspired Prophets and Apostles.
There is no mistaking their words.

I Yahchanan 3:7-8—
7 Little children, let no man deceive you; he who practices
Righteousness (Duet 6:28) is Righteous, just as He is Righteous.
8 He who commits sin (I John 3:4) is of the devil, for the devil
has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son
of Yahweh was manifested; that He might destroy the
works of the devil.

Understand?

They go to church so that the preacher can tell them what they want to hear but the Churches will not bring them salvation and they will soon find that out.

simply put, not everyone believes in heaven and hell, not everyone believes the bible word for word. Not everyone is a christian. Some don't like the idea that is presented about heaven.
People are going to believe what they want to believe. For some people they put faith in whatever they want to believe... Some people use the bible and heaven as a crutch. They have faith that death isn't all there is. Some people don't want to believe that after you die you just turn to dust. It gives them hope that they will go on after they die... some people choose to believe differently.

Because people lack faith and they believe in little; there are of course exceptions. Some people are educated and they make their own assumptions of what happens after your dead having so many close people die around me I can say that divine intervention does exist and the Bible is a form of blueprint that some people believe in, I think most people are too lazy to become educated and learn that knowledge is power, they will however find out wont they?
