What do the areas in your town look like that are inhabited by illegals?

There's a strip in Aurora Colorado, along East Colfax Avenue, that is full of garbage on the streets, people waiting out front of day labor sites next to pawn shops. There are numerous motels , built in the 50's when Colfax was I-70, that are filled with Mexicans, Guatemalans, El Salvadorians etc. There are dumpy little restaurants and bars as well as auto parts stores with people working on their cars in the parking lot. Nearby there are "taco wagons" with young girls and fat barachos with their babies in tow. It is pure chaos as you drive down the street. Everyone jay walks and there's lots of crappy cars pulling out on the street. Massive huddles of people waiting for the bus. It's very dirty and there is a strong police presence everywhere. There's prostitution and drug dealing at all of the little motels, which coincidentally are owned by Arabs. It's an ugly but entertaining little piece of metro Denver. My friends refer to Colfax avenue as the "Fax of Life", they even wrote a song called "East Colfax Travesties In the Purple Mountain Majesties". It's a ghetto or barrio, whatever, no one with any sense ventures there after dark.

Glad you asked. They have congregated in several areas here. But I will describe only one. It used to be a nice, quiet neighborhood with a small but lovely park. The lawns were immaculate, the houses kept in tidy repair.
Now the park is littered with beer cans and broken bottles. The swing sets have no swings. The slides are laying on their sides. There's a huge pile of garbage over where there used to be a giant sandbox. The picnic tables are covered in Mexican graffiti.
Most of the houses are looking shabby, boards over broken windows. Piles of garbage and dirty diapers by the porches.
Rusted old cars in the yards, also covered in graffiti. Men sit on those sagging porches all day, but they are here to work?
Or draw food stamps and aid to anchor babies?
It's not prudent to drive down the streets, because of the small children playing in the streets unsupervised.
There are for sale signs in front of many of the houses, but they've been there for a long time, because no American wants to buy in the neighborhood. The families who have moved out, yet have been unable to sell their homes are seeing plunging property values and vandalism to their houses.

Worse than the slums that they complained about the blacks with.

I have seen bad neighborhoods turned worse and good neighborhoods go bad. I have seen NOT A ONE be better. I have seen black bad neighborhoods where even the black don't venture.

The only difference I see is that the Mexicans seem to like to paint their buildings hot pink or purple. It is no longer a questionable area to go into....it is a definate area NOT to go to. For everybody.

Everything is in Spanish. To he** with bi-lingual. You get Mexican food and nothing else. There isn't a hot dog joint or a pizza parlor or a chinese restaurant.....they are full of bars for sure.....tattoo parlors.....beyond that....not much. Sorry...they do have what they call auto repair shops. But....no Dr's or lawyers or dentists....mostly re-sale shops and such.

They are definately a place where no-one wants to go. It's basicly un-safe....even in the day-light.

The ones in my area are evidently not like the ones in other more Border area's.Ours are quiet respectful people of property and person.They try to just blend in and leave everyone alone.I teach one of the ESL classes in my area.All but 3 are illegal.Ours are the kind I wish everyone could see.Then we wouldn't have any problems with getting visa's for these few.But the bad attitudes and habits of ones nearer the Border are ruining any sentiment people may have towards the decent few.

My neighborhood is very diverse, heavily Mexican, a few Blacks, nice middle class working neighborhood. I do not know which ones are illegal as I do not ask to see papers. We have a lot of ferengifighters as well, I know them by their ears, most of them push grocery carts loaded with cans and some of them gnash their teeth constantly. I suspect that is why their teeth are small.
