there were a few recalls for the 05/06 models. what specifically are you reffering to? the blower motor on libertys? tipm reflash on compass?
i actually think that chrysler/jeep/dodge have fewer recalls than most brands do...got just a little experience to back up that claim too.
the reason for a recall is simple. the mfgr felt that something needed to be fixed. pretty straight forward. all mfgrs do this...

A recall isn't really that big of a deal. It is actually a good thing in most cases. The manufacturer can issue a recall for many reasons not just safety. I do recalls on vehicles that are considered "customer satisfaction" to repair a pontential problem before it causes the owner any problems. I like when the manufacturer can admit it made a mistake and make it right, its much better than the alternative.

Yes, there are only 2 front lower ball joints on your Jeep. Apparently you had them replaced before the recall. My daughter has a 2002 Jeep, and she received that recall several months ago.

its not that they don't hold up its that a recall is for the owners safety, and to cover there ***. most of the recalls are for piddly stuff like water leaks or plastic trim that vibrates when you have the radio on, or they cover there *** by things like, replacing the front wheel bearings on the 2005-07 1500 dodge trucks. they didn't put enough grease in the bearing assy. when they made them, and they start tearing themselves apart from the inside out.

At least americans are honest enough to admit the recalls.
Acura was forced by a judge to recall 125,000 cars EACH YEAR because the suspension would come undone and several dozen people died.
Honda was sued and ordered to recall Millions of cars because they used poor parts that decreased horsepower, now they are required to undergo strict testing of engines to prove that they have the horsepower they claim.
Popular mechanics was the first company to discover the truth and got the whole case rolling.
On top of that, the steering column on my best friend's accord failed and the car cmashed into a rail in a rotary. He had to wait several months to recover until he could return to duty in the navy.

We had to have a bearing replaced. Go by or call the dealer to get details. Other than that, we drive 50 miles 5 days a week and haven't had any problems.

You are looking at this the wrong way and you are incorrect. The fact that they actually do the recalls shows integrity on their part. The work is based on the PROBABILITY of failure. The work is free!

I have a 2005 liberty, it had a transmission recall like a month after i bought it, then it had a ball joint recall, then the recalled ball joints were recalled.
JEEP = JUNK
I guess I really got my money's worth because I have had three recalls.
The people that buy american cars think its normal to have to take a car back to the dealer to fix things that were made wrong at the factory.
If this is contrary to your way of thinking the only solution is to buy a Honda or Toyota.

I think all Chrysler products come with a "free recall". LOL!!!
Standard issue garbage. Most likely there is a recall. Goes with the brand.
Good Luck!
