Ask the pound if their vet has any idea how much it would be to treat the mole on the eye. It might not be expensive at all, and she could have it done while being spayed, which would make it even less expensive to remove. As for convincing Mom & bro, can't help ya. Sorry.

Your vet could only answer that question about the mole on the dogs eye and if he/she needs surgery, or if the dog will be able to live without surgery. So ask your vet that question ok.
As far as the choice between the two dogs, it sounds to me like everyone likes 'both' dogs. So why not take both of them? And just because your sister didn't go with you to the pound, why couldn't she be included in this decision? She is family, and should get a chance to vote as well.
Also, if money is factor and you cannot support a dog that will need medical attention, then don't get a dog at all. ALL animals need medical attention. They need shots once a year and yearly check ups to help maintain a healthy life. Vet bills can be expensive no matter what. Some vets also work with their customers and let them make payments starting with a reasonable down payment on services like surgery. Talk with your vet about that as well.
What are you going to do, if you choose the dog that doesn't have the mole, and it gets really sick? What are you going to do then? You'll have to take it to the vet, and it will need antibiotics etc. and it will cost up the ying yang for it. Having a pet is a great responsibility and you have to be willing to care for it and give it the medical attention that it needs and deserves throughout its lifetime. Loving a pet isn't enough. Feeding a pet isn't enough. Pets need medical attention like we do when we get sick, or hurt. Before you decide on either of these dogs, weigh out the cost for them as well. And if you cannot afford it, or if you can't be committed to making sure they get the medical attention etc., then let someone else adopt them ok.

Get them both. They could keep eath other company. See if you can put your pet on your insurance. Or you can take one out for kayla. They can cost up to 19 dollars a month for each or both, not sure. But I will take the two. I have 2 cats and my intention was to get one, but I also believe that animals need a companion of another animal also. I ended up loving the cat I get as a companion more that the first one because she treats me better which wasn't expected in the beginning. She was a stray, sick and malnurished and had fleas, worms...plus she wasn't as cute as the other cat which has a bushy tail. Now I realize that I have a pedigree cat, Egyptian mau, which is rare. What you think may not be right for you could be the perfect one that you need. God bless.

Well you can't just go to the pound and pick out 2 dogs then return one, thats not how it works, they aren't items like at a store. Both deserve a loving home, how about you keep both and for Kayla try to do chores in your neighborhood to try and raise money for her surgery.

You need to plan ahead and accidents happen so what if you don't have money then???
owning a dog is a very big responsability.
Without seeing the dog there is no way to say what this mole or whatever is. doesn't the pound have a vet or will they let you have a vet come check it??
