Not necessarily, but to be sure, we always ask God that HIS will be done, and to give you what you request, IF it aligns with what HE wants for your life. But we are supposed to pray, and we are supposed to let our requests made to God.

God has a general plan for our lives but He has not planned out every minute detail. Therefore we can ask Him to do certain things for us, and often He will do so, just as He changed water into wine at the request of His mother, even though His time "had not yet come".

What if it's God's "master plan" that we pray to ask Him to change the first plan?

Also, that's why Jesus ended His prayer, "But Thy will be done." In other words, we are just kind of reminding Him, hey, we'd like it this way--but we also ought to remember that He knows best. :)

There is a saying from one of our Grand Imams, that if God himself had not asked us to pray, it would be a great sin to pray. Praying is a form of connecting with the Holy One. When we pray and ask, we are connecting with him.

If not, he gives us air before we ask. Our mothers milk was ready for us before we were born. He takes care of all of our needs before we even become aware of the need. So, indeed to ask or to pray would be very presumptuous indeed.

Thus praying is a form of connection. He knows before we pray what we will pray for. It is the connection value that is important. When you call your mom to talk to her, she knows your needs. But when you talk to her, you connect with her one more time.

THAT is where the value is. I hope this makes sense.

No we are participating in his plan. Which is a REAL good idea since he holds the future of heaven, earth and our souls. Cooperation and submission to the Lord of the Universe, yes very good idea indeed. :)

I don't think so.
I think when we pray, we are giving God the acknowledgement that we know He is there, he is there for us, He is with us. He wants us to know He is always around.
What better way to recognize that than through prayer?

Depends on what you ask him for. You may just be getting what you're gonna get a little earlier.
God always listens but sometimes he says no

It could be just hoping to remind God to assure that he gets that plan going the right way

You could say that. Maybe His plan is for you to pray and change his plans. Whoa...
