Hi, yes-it would, same as your heart would show damage if you had a heart attack.
things to look for in a stroke are
Can the person speak and be understood?
can they lift both hands above their head?
can they stick their tongue out straight?
if tongue lolls to either side- or they cant do first 2- get an ambulance- and warn that you think its a stroke.

If there was damage it would show on a brain scan. There is damage everytime someone has a stroke even if the person does not show any residual effects.

It depends on what kind of stroke. I've had TIA's or mini-strokes. They do not show up on CT scans or MRIs. They will run the tests to determine if there is blockage or fluid built up in the brain. They found a cyst in my brain in June which may or may not have cause my symptoms.

My dad just had a scan because he had some symptoms of a stroke (motor skills were affected) and it actually showed that this was his 3rd stroke.

Best of Luck.

Yes. My mother was sent for one when they suspected a stroke. If fact she had a brain tummor which was inoperable, but the scans was to show the stroke they thought she had!

If you had a stroke I'm pretty sure someone would tell you about it.
