Isn't it amazing how the banks keep offering credit to people who are already stretched way over their head...then cry because their profits are going down the toilet due to all the charged off accounts?

They deserve what they get.

Could be she was paying minimums while she was runing up those cards. That would get her more card offers.

Eventually, it will all catch up to her. In 4 or 5 years she'll want to buy a new car or a home and her credit will suck.

Seems obvious to me too.

Buy an alcoholic a bottle of booze, a arsonist a 5 pack of disposable lighters and someone unable to manage their credit a brand new credit card.

IMO it is a bit counterproductive.

Perhaps friend is bragging because at some point they DO stop sending the cards.

No, they make more money on the folks who do not pay, due to late fees, etc.
