Matthew 1:18
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
Matthew 1:20
But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
Luke 1:35
And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
The Holy Ghost overshadowed Mary and she conceieved and gave birth to the Son of God. The Holy Ghost is God because he is the one who overshadowed Mary.

The Holy Ghost is the power of God, it enables us to speak in an unknown language. It overcame the virgin Mary and she conceived our Savior. The Holy Ghost is another comforter sent in the name of Jesus Christ. He is a part of the godhead which was fully in Christ Jesus bodily.

He certainly is. He possesses the attributes of God as attested to in scripture. Hebrews 9:14 - Eternity; Genesis 1:2 and Job 26:13 and 33:4 - Creation; John 16:12-13 and I Corinthians 2:10-11 - Omniscience; Psalms 139:7-10 - Omnipresence. Also He is called God in Acts 5:3-4 by Peter when confronting Annanias and Sapphira.

Yes. He has the abilities of God to know your thoughts, etc.
The Holy Ghost is the third person of the Trinity. This does not mean that He is third in importance. He is true God (Acts 5:3,4). He is a spirit being (John 4:24). He is equal in honor and power and glory with the Father and the Son. Some other names for Him in the Bible are the Spirit of the Lord (Acts 5:3); the Comforter (John 14:26); The Spirit, Spirit of God (1 Corinthians 2:10,11).
Acts 5:3,4 . . .Why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Ghost?. . . you have not lied unto men, but unto God.
John 4:24 God is a spirit. . .
John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost . . .
1 Corinthians 2:10,11 But God has revealed them unto us by His Spirit . . . even so the things of God knows no man but the Spirit of God.

God IS Spirit and they that worship Him must worship in spirit and truthfulness.
There are two main titles for the Spirit in the Old Testament.
1. In Genesis 1:2, He was seen as " The Spirit of God" ( The Brooding Spirit for creation)
2 In Judges 3:10 and Ezek 11:15 " The Spirit of Jehovah" ( when in relation to man, e.g. For prophesying, for works of power)
In the New Testament we, for the First time see the Title" Holy SPirit" ( Matthew 1:18, 20 and Luke 1:35) when He overshadowed Mary in the conception of the" Holy thing" in her womb.( Luke 1:15, 35)
In Psalm 51:11 and Isaiah 63:10-11, the proper translation should not be " Holy Spirit' but rather " the SPirit of Holiness"
We see Him also as THE Spirit ' Not Yet" because Jesus had not yet been Glorified. John 7:39
According to 1 Corinthians 15:45 we see that in resurrection, Christ as the " Last Adam" became a Life Giving SPirit.
Further in the New Testament we see further titles interesting titles of the Spirit Who IS God.
" The SPirit of Jesus" Acts 16:6-7.. Vs 7 said that the " Spirit of Jesus did not allow them Paul and his coworkers to go to Bithynia...
' The Spirit of Christ" Romans 8:9 "But you are not in the flesh but in the spirit if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone has not the Spirit of Christ, he is not of Him"
" The Spirit of Jesus Christ" Philippians 1:19 our brother Paul speaks ' For I know that for me this will turn out to salvation through your petition and the bountiful supply of the SPIRIT OF JESUS CHRIST"
By the end of the Bible we see the final title " THE SPIRIT"
This is the consumate title of the God the Spirit. For In Him is not just holiness as His nature, but He has also had added to Him all the rich experiences of Christ and all the Attainments and processes that Christ had gone through added to Him.
So YES.. the Holy Spirit is GOD.

Yes.
John 15:26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, [even] the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
Revelation 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
Above, the Spirit is spoken of in connection to the bride of Christ ie, the saved (see Matthew 25) when Christ is represented by the bridegroom. So we see a connection between Christ and the Spirit. Then we see that Christ is also God.
John 10:30 I and [my] Father are one.
1 Peter 1:2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

Yes. He was there at creation along with Jesus and the Father.
Genesis chapter 1 .."and the Spirit of God hovered over the waters"...
"Let us create man ..." the US in that according to John 1 ,Collosians 1 and Hebrews 1 is all 3, Father ,Son and Holy Spirit."All things were created by God through Jesus.."
So you see Jesus is God ,the Father is God and the Holy Spirit is God. All were there at creation.
Peter says in Acts 5 to Annanias " You have lied to the Holy Spirit...you have not lied to man but to God".

God is a spirit.
the Holy Ghost is the Spirit of God, therefore the Holy Ghost = God.
not to mention all the scripture in the OT & NT that says there is only ONE God.
the Bible only teaches Oneness.

Yes. The Holy Spirit is how God interacts with mankind in the present era. Each Person of the Trinity is an aspect, or 'persona' of God. We won't know God in His Entirety until we leave this planet.

Yes, the Holy Spirit is God. Why? Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
I cannot do it on Yahoo, but in my KJV Bible, this scripture is in RED LETTERS, indicating Jesus words. Why would Jesus tell His disciples to Baptize in anothers name besides God?
In His Service,
John the Baptist

Acts 5:3 But Peter said , Ananias, why has satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself? While it remained was it not your own?And after it was sold was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.
I believe that this scriptures main point is to clarify the fact that Annanias lied to the Holy Spirit, and thereby was lieing to God Himself. God bless!!
