You really should consider a dog from the pound. It doesn't mean that there defective or anything, and even if you want a "pure bred" they are available at the pound just as well. Sitting in the pound is like sitting on death row, a lot of those dogs will never get a chance. Maybe you should post reasonable reasons as to why you don't want a dog from the pound. I think that you shouldn't put conditions on love. With most pounds and rescue groups, they test the dogs to make sure that they are suited to live with people. With kids, without kids, cats and no cats. Everyone has that "perfect dog" in mind. But even if "Spike" or "Fluffy" isn't exactly what you imagined, i garentee that they will love you regardless of what you look like or where you come from.

What's the difference between going to the pound, a shelter and an individual getting rid of the their dog? Isn't that where most dogs at shelters come from? Also, getting your dog from the shelter or a rescue group means your dog is up to date on vaccinations an is already spayed/neutered.

go to www.petfinder.com and check out their classifieds section.
Dogs from the pound are dogs that someone had and wanted to get rid of. Beagles are common dogs and you should easily find one up for adoption.

Why not a dog from the pound? That is where the dogs end up when the people can't find anyone to take them, so what's the difference?
Try www.petfinder.com.

It isn't safe to purchase a dog online. There are numerous online dog scams going on right now and it is not safe unless you want to lose money. Go to your local rescue shelter and help out a dog who needs a good home. Also, if you can't afford to purchase a dog- you can't afford to care for one. They need routine shots to keep them from getting diseases and yearly vet checks.

Here a few:

Check your local vet. Sometimes, they have a bulletin board that lists a few dogs that need good homes. Or, check your local newspaper. But, if you want to save a life, you can always check out:

I hope that this answers your question! Thanks, and, good luck,
