ok well along time ago we got a chihwahwa that was female and she was 5 yrs old
i went with when we got her and she hated every one
but by the time we got home she loved me
and the dog was soposto be my dads b/c we alredy had 2 chihwahwas
one was mine and one was my moms
then the new one (baby was her name)
started protecting me
and followed me every were
she would not let any one near me
what is wronge with her
is she like in love with me or some thing
i kinda like the attention form her and i love baby but she doesent love my dad?
id donno it confuses me

You paid a lot of attention to Baby, so she bonded to you. That's a good thing. So, you're her best friend.
If you want that to change, you have to figure out how to get demoted as a friend, and get your father as her best friend.... but he is probably OK with you and baby being best friends...

No, he doesn't love the dog more than you, he's just behaving in a very immature fashion. He doesn't understand that you were traumatized by what happened as well, and that you should be his top priority. If you have to earn his love by cooking dinner or washing his boat, then his love isn't worth having. You could try telling him how you feel, but I doubt he's interested in that. Sorry, all you can do is wait him out. Give it another week or two. P.S. acknowleging that it is in fact your fault, even though you didn't intend to hurt the dog, and accepting responsibility for your actions, will probably speed up the process.

Dogs are individuals that have individual personalities just as humans do. She just prefers your company. That is totally normal and an not uncommon occurrence. We have a female sheltie that was supposed to be my buddy and is well my husbands buddy.
Dogs are not objects that feel the way an "owner" wants them too. They have their own likes and dislikes and there really isnt anything you can do about it.

some dogs like other people more than others. Try to not be around her as much and when she does something good let your dad praise her and let him start feeding and giving her treats. She would most likely start liking him and not just love you but love him also.

she probably feels you need protecting..sounds like no one in the house hold or in her previous households, took on the task of Alpha so she feels she needs to..now once she gets settled in and once all of the humans show her that they are in charge and control everything, she might eventually settle down..being a Chihuahua and 5 years old, i doubt she will..she is pretty set in her ways..and chihuahuas are one person dogs..just don't let her get away with protecting you, she will eventually bite.

Because she thinks you're dominant, and then she's below you, and the rest of the family is below her. Get you dad to feed her her meals, and take her on walks so she has a chance to bond with him. Don't cuddle or pet her when she doesn't let people near you. When you come back home, say hello to your family before you greet her.

Basically, most small dogs choose a person and form a close bond with him/her. I don't think there is anything you can do, but I'm not sure....

Nothing is wrong with her she just enjoys being with you the most. You are her best friend and she just wants to protect you,because you mean alot to her

most chis will take to one person than any other this can be very normal especcially not knowing her background.
Chis are known to be a 1 person dog and this is why you shouln't pick a chi you should let them pick you

your dads dog has bonded with you .people say that if you are getting a puppy the puppy should choose you not the other way round and that's what has happened the puppy has chosen you .lucky you
