Yes he can. I'm exactly like that, and I love my friend very much she means the world to me, but she's going to uni soon, so i wouldnt want a relationship with her... but i am sort of attracted to her. (and i stay up till 6am talking to her sometimes....)
Anyway, if your attracted to her, it will probably turn into you wanting a relationship, so either tell yourself you dont want to have a relationship with her, and keep her as a good friend.
you really need to ask her how she feels, other wise you'll just get hurt if you leave it untill a certain point.

I know so, I have several male friends,we have long conversations I enjoy their personality,and them enjoy mine. We both know we would never cross the line(we're just friends.) The guy can be attracted to his friend,without wanting a relationship..

A lot of woman will tell men that they only want to friends, because they are attracted to them, but not in a physical way. Men take this the wrong way, just because they are doesn't mean that the woman are. I think we can never have enough friends to share our life with. You have a strong friendship with this person, which doesn't mean that it couldn't grow into something more. In order to have a good marriage you need to be friends.
