Nascar is just getting way to soft!!!!! You won't see F1 do this. After all F1 races in the rain.

Competition Yellow is only to slow down the cars at each caution to ensure there safety. Also if nascar didn't have it the Drivers would run crazy back to the flag causing wrecks. I don't remember the year but a year before they came out with the caution rule Dale Jarrett was setting on the track when got hit at full speed by another driver {could have kill D.J.} that was the turning point for nascar's decision. Have a great day: hope I have answer your Question

A mandatory caution used to guage tire wear. Usually used when a track has been altered as by rain. No rubber on the track means a green track and generally increased tire wear.
Gives the teams an opportunity to determine how long a car can run before tire failure. Safety precaution.

If a practice is rained out nascar throughs the competition caution to cheack tire wear and make adjustments to the car. I think it is fair.

I have a novel idea how about Goodyear design a tire that is known to be safe!
Could you imagine F1 throwing a safety car to let the cars check their tire wear? F1 fans would RIOT! It's a typical NAZI-car example on how to ruin the race, like Tony Stewart said its getting to be WWE!
A few years ago at Indy Michelin had an unsafe tire and their cars didn't race! It was embarassing but the same thing NAZI-car does at least 6 times a year!

they are not trying to ruin the race its actually for safety reasons.... its not a conspiracy and the drivers dont mind them.... its a good way to make adjustments or change your tires and gauge what the car & tires have been doing.... its actually beneficial for them.....
GO HARVICK & RCR!!!

it was early. teams didn't get to make changes in final practice because it was rained out. no big deal. phantom debris cautions are worse complain about that.
