Leviticus 18:22
" 'Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.
Leviticus 20:13
" 'If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.
1 Corinthians 6:9

Well, first off, I don't think that any Christian would say that it is a sin to be gay in and of itself. That is simply a mental characteristic, that may or may not be controllable. However, the more traditional Christians would not approve of homosexual behavior (which anyone, straight or gay, can do, after all), since they reason that it is a perversion of the true nature of sex. As for a Biblical condemnation, most christians would point to certain verses in Leviticus or Romans.
I'm into the arts as well, especially theater. So, I sort of know the situation you are in. Well, I hope that I helped you!

Many homosexuals claim they cannot change. But the testimony of many in the medical profession is that they can change if they really want to. The book Homosexuality, by the Society of Medical Psychoanalysts, Research Committee, states that “every homosexual is a latent heterosexual.” The Bible further gives testimony that one can change from filthy and degrading practices. Thus the apostle Paul, after telling that homosexuals will not inherit God’s kingdom, adds: “Yet that is what some of you were. But you have been washed clean.”—1Â Cor. 6:9-11.

Leviticus 18:22 "Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.
Also look at Romans 1:24-27 (27...Men committed indecent acts with other men. and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.)

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 -- 9Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
EDIT: And to those who are giving the thumbs down, she asked a question and these are the scriptures she was looking for. Whether you agree with it or not, it's still accurate.

Romans 1:24-28 refers to homosexuality as an "unnatural sin", it's also mentioned somewhere in 1 Corinthians 6, I think.
(Romans 1:24-28)
Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. 25 For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. 26 For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, 27 and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. 28 And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper

There are lots of verses in the Bible ranging from not using a donkey and an ox at the same time to killing people of other faiths. Why if these verses are ignored is the one about homosexuality still used. There are verses about slavery in the Bible which was used in the 1800s to promote this heinous act. Hopefully in the 21st century people will begin to realize that it doesn't matter and relegate these verses to were they rightly belong in the bin.

The verse you are looking for is the last verse, but reading it in context will help you to understand why, and how, it is wrong.
Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
edit:
These verses are not exclusive to those who are in the sin of homosexuality but all who deny the living God and make truth a lie.
