Why do so many people on R&S seem to have trouble using the spell-checker? Are they really that uneducated or just plain lazy? I think if you were trying to convert somebody you'd want to seem like you had half a brain.

I've wondered that myself. I suggest many of the posts with poor grammar/misspellings come from younger posters who frequently use "texting", which involves the use of letters and abbreviations to save time. (I sometimes "text" on a cell phone, but never in email, blogs or chats.) I've observed that trolls seem to use poor spelling/grammar more often - probably in an effort to stir up responses (e.g., a "fundie" Christian poses as an atheist and posts a stupid comment about Christianity just to make atheists appear uneducated).

I am uncertain concerning the others using this system, however, I have found that nearly 50% of the time the spell checker does not work. Repeated clicks to access the service proves to be fruitless. It may be either too busy, or some failure in the internet connections. I would like to see a response from "Yahoo" as to what the problem might be.

They do have half a brain! It's just the lower half, with the hypothalamus and the other bits that handle things like "remember to breathe!"
(The "and try breathing without opening your mouth" bit is in the OTHER half!)

God is by far more important..and they supose there are very clever people here that could understand anyway...have you ever read a cronicle...?you could hardly consider that a grammer but ya...anyone can understand..
