I'm an athiest and No I don't believe in karma! I do believe that if you are kind to people, you have a better outlook on life and people are kinder to you. This works both ways if your unkind to people. Hince the old saying "Bad things Happen to bad people" I think alot of people would confuss this with karma when it's actually attitude or your outlook torward life and the people around you. Peace!

Karma just means what goes around comes around - not necessarily a higher power issue in most cases. Buddhists believe in Karma, but believe that Buddha was just a man, not a higher power.

Atheist do not believe in god. The existence of karma, soul, and other aspects of spirituality are individual beliefs.
Personally, no I don't believe in karma as expressed by eastern cultures. Since I don't believe in a soul, or reincarnation, a belief in karma would be silly.
Also, karma, as described by the eastern faiths that invented it, isn't "what goes around comes around" idea popular with many "new age" practitioners.

Well since a lot of Buddhists are either atheist or agnostic and believe in karma, I'd say yes some atheists believe in Karma. But since atheists do not have a common belief system (other than not believing in God), not all atheists believe in karma.

Most of the persons who have interacted seem Not to have understood the "Doctrine of Karma" --It is an attempt to dilute the concept by describing it as "What goes round comes back" etc.Karma is indepedent of one's likes or dislikes-beleifs or no beleifs.Every action -both conducive or non-conducive to the individual, family, county, community,City country,Universe etc has a Positive or Negative marking and is AUTOMATIC(it is not based on "One's" will)- it superimposes(Adhyaasa) the Aathman(Soul)-like more air makes a fire on a piece of coke to "glow" or and less air make it covered with ash-when the ash is blown off by air-conducive actions remove the the ash and makes it glow again-.Air is only an "aid",-likewise prayers are only aid to help to improve the glow.--Air (being religious) per se is not "fire"(Karma)--So Theist or Atheist, Karma Phalam (the Fruit of action ) accumelates on and influences the Soul.--Ultimately it is the "Fire"(Karma) only influences the coke(Aatman-the Soul) to Glow or to be dull. Meemaamsa (as propagated by sri.Kumarila Bhatta and sri.Mandan Mishra and their students) is of the view that "KARMA CAN EVEN bind GOD".

of course its possible. karma is a philosophical concept, not a religious one. my brother is a religious taoist (who believes in karma) and im an atheist, and i dont find it as hard to believe in as a supernatural entity. maybe i dont believe in karma as something that happens in nature like a taoist or buddhist, but more as the human search for justice, that whatever goes around should come around.

Atheism is nothing more than a lack of a belief in a god - nothing more, nothing less. This is the only common belief held by all atheists, so this is all you may assume about someone when they reveal their lack of belief. All of their other beliefs are unique to their own person, and are not necessarily common to all atheists. For example, most theists presume that all atheists accept evolution, which is, while likely true, nevertheless a fallacious presumption.

I can't speak for her, but I don't believe in Karma. I am good to others because I want to be, not because it's 'coming back around'.
