Let me clarify. It's not me meeting someone online but meeting a couple that met online for the first time. Husbands brother met an girl online from another country and she is here for a week. Are there any do's and don't s. Trying to make the situation more comphortable. It's still strange to me.

Always meet them in a PUBLIC place, arrive in separate vehicles, leave the same way you got there... separately! And it's never a bad idea to take a friend along. Never leave a public place to go somewhere private. No matter what you may know about them from online, you do not know them in person yet and they may not be what and who they say they are once you meet them.
And I would also talk to them on the phone after talking to them online, BEFORE you meet them in person. Make sure they at least sound like who they say they are.
If you don't take a friend along, let someone know you are going to meet a new person so they'll know where you are, keep a cell phone with you at all times so they can contact you if necessary (and YOU have a way to reach someone if need be) and if you have talked to this person on the phone, leave THEIR number with the person who knows you're going to this "meeting".

Good luck and I hope they are everything you expected. :)

Do:
Bring a friend
Meet in a highly populated place
Let your parents know
Try to have as much information as possible about this person and verify it. Such as phone number, address, and name and give it to your parents incase something happens
Have a cell phone with you
Trust your instincts-if something isn't quite right-LEAVE
Don't:
Meet the person anywhere that was not agreed upon in advance
Leave the place agreed upon
Let them pick you up
Dress provacatively to insinuate your up for anything
Tell your friend to leave you alone with this person
Meet anyone that is over 17 if you are a minor

If it is all on the up and up, this person will not be offended by your requests, they will understand your need for security.
Girls are often swept up in the notion that someone really likes them and things are all fine and well. If you could ask one of the many murdered girls who met someone from online, the story might even sound like yours. All that glitters sometimes is not gold!

Really the only major rule you NEED to follow is for the first few dates, make sure you meet them in a public place, restaurant etc. Only start going to less places with them when you feel comfortable, because let's face it theres some creepy people on the web.
