It will be my first job, it's for a conveniance store. Obviously this will be hard, since I can't even spell the name of the store. Haha! I have nothing to put on it...and..I don't know how to make one. Will someone help me? I'm TOTALLY new to this. ANY advice you can give me will help! Thanks!

I'm only 14. I'm still in high school. :\ I'm definatly not lazy, that's for sure. It's an easy job, I'm told, anyways. Cashier, I think.

1) Don't lie on the resume!!!
2) Learn how to spell the name of the company.
3) List any post-secondary education (after high school, including college, or even computer classes, et al you took at the local library or whatever).
4) Put down any extra-ciricular activities you did in school.
5) List volunteer activity.

If you have no work experience, then you just want them to believe that you are not lazy. If you are lazy, then I don't know what to tell you.

As for getting started, MS Office (Word) usually has templates for resumes. Begin with one of those and type in your information.

use your teachers as a reference point. Somebody employing a 14 year old is looking for a couple of things -reliability, honesty and willingness. Your teachers can give a verbal or written reference to advise that you are those things. (if you are not then I can't help you nor can anyone else). You could also use quotes from your school report on your resume to reflect the three qualities I have listed above that employers are looking for. Then list your interests outside of school - if you can show that have shown dedication in other areas then it will help. it doesn't matter if that dedication has been in sport, community service, babysitting duties or whatever - remember they want to see that you are reliable and willing. Finally for good measure make sure you turn up when and where you say you will turn up for the interview - arriving a few minutes early for the interview and your future work life will stand you in good stead with your boss. If you are on the cashier they may also wish to know that you can handle cash and make mental additions and subtractions - so a Maths teachers word/ or report card might also help. good luck.

Your resume will be short - that's OK, you're just getting started.

Do it like this:

your name
address
city and state

Background:

Student at xxxxxxx school

If you've done any volunteering, you could list that also, but if you haven't, don't worry about it.

2006-2007 Volunteered as xxxxxxxxxx at xxxxxxxx.

Or if you've done something like babysitting, you could list it - don't say for whom, just say

2006-2007 Baby sat for various families.

That's about it. Did the c-store even say you need a resume. Most of them would just have you fill out their application form.

Good luck.
