i have an 03 jeep liberty 2.8crd diesel and sounds very rumbly/even a bit rough at tickover sometimes sort of rumbles a bit doesnt knock,and only done 50k drives fine starts fine just sounds a bit rough at idle has anyone encountered this at all is it something to be concerned about,i know its twin cam,but would that make it run a bit rumbly,revs up fine and no problems,as yet

a diesel engine runs @ almost 3 times the compression that a gas engine does...it will be a little noisy,find another one in your area and listen to it and talk to the owner...try local news add.

Almost all diesels are like that, so long as it clears up as the revs increase you probably have nothing to worry about. Of course without hearing exactly how it sounds it is impossible to be certain, but this is one of the things that puts people off diesels.

Modern diesels that do near 50mpg and have way more torque than gas engines make them much better to own though.
