I scrub my potatoes first, take a knife and poke several holes in them, rut with butter and roll in coarse salt. I wrap each one in a paper towel and microwave until I can squeeze the potato and it is soft. (depends on size, amount and your microwave)

Mmm.... our favorite!
Scrub a good sized brown potato to get it clean and leave it damp or fairly wet. Place a square of foil on the counter for each potato you are baking. Just slightly more than enough to cover the potato.
While the potato is still wet, sprinkle generously with garlic salt and let if also fall onto the foil. Then close the foil around the potato, but roll the excess into a strip to close... not wrapping the potato several times, as this blocks heat. Then just twist the ends closed.
Bake at 375*F or 400*F for about an hour. Squeeze them while wearing an oven mitt to test for doneness. They should feel soft, maybe a little mushy. Cook another 1/2 hour or so if they still feel hard.
They come out so flavorful and moist, you won't believe it! I bake a bunch at a time, and use the left overs to make delicious garlic flavored mashed potatoes on another day.

Wash the potato, poke a few holes in it with a fork, rub entire potato with butter and salt. Wrap in aluminum foil 1 1/2 times around it. Put in oven preheated to 400 degrees. Let it bake for one hour then check with poking it with a fork to see if it is done. If the fork slides in very easily and feels like it would go all the way through, then it is ready.

Take a medium sized potato, scrub the skin very well, dry off with a paper towel, rub a thin layer of vegetable oil on the outside, place in a 350 degree oven for approximately 45 minutes , test for doneness by poking it with a toothpick if it goes in easily and does not hit a hard spot it is done, just be careful of any steam.
