Two months ago I flew from Columbia, MO to Vienna, Austria. I had several stops and had to change my plane but my bags were all checked through to Austria. I flew with British Airways and had a stop in London Heathrow. Unfortunately they had problems with the luggage and a lot of them got lost. When I arrived, I didn't get one of my two bags. After a week one of them arrived but I still don't have the other bag. A person from France emailed me that they think they have my bag and they will send it to me. I didn't hear from them in a long time and emailed again, he answered that they sent it to Italy but their collegues will send me my bag and now, almost a month after that, they ignore my emails and I don't know what to do. Is there anything I could do? Is there a chance that I will see my bag ever again? (I already talked to the customer relaions and they are working on paying out the money but have no information about the bag) There are a lot of memories from a whole year in it...

Chances are slim you will ever see your bag again but keep trying. Sometimes the bags are just placed out of the way and forgotten about and then turn up later.
Keep contacting everyone you can. Sometimes they will go out of the way to find the bag just to stop the e-mails.
Good luck.

There is still hope!!

Bug British Airways. Bug someone on top. That bag is somewhere and many bags do go missing. But a lot of passengers don't bother tracking down their bags so that they can claim insurance on it and replace it. New clothes and lugguge for free, basically. If they fly a lot, it's bound to happen and they pack accordingly.

You need to let them know that you're not a buisness person who's simply making a claim but someone who actually wants their personal possessions back.

Name names if you can. Give all details. Explain the whole story. Send copies to all the top brass, BA headquarters, the airports involved, send the letters registered mail. Make it clear, you don't want the money, you want the bag!

Good luck!

There's always a chance I suppose, but odds are very low. And ir someone had yout bag accidentally and was really trying to return it, why wouldn't they have just returned it to the airline, not supposedly sent it to some colleague in Italy?

if you have your name and address on all the luggage you are in good shape, but transfering flights is one of the major hassles of travelling. I'm guessing that British Airways usually does an ok job on finding luggage so keep your hopes up!

good luck

There is a chance, but it doesn't sound like the airline wants to cooperate. I believe there is a central city where all the lost baggage ends up, maybe they can tell you where that is.
