They are soft one month lenses and they were under the water for about 10-20 seconds. Also, I have been rinsing the case in tap water as well.

"Definitely not, You need a sterile cleaning solution, read the directions you have received when you got your contact lenses."

Directions never mentioned tap water.

I wouldn't think so. It would be much safer to buy contact solution than to risk getting an eye infection. :/ I'm not entirely sure about it but personally, I wouldn't do so.

You should never, ever rinse your contact lenses in tap water, or any water. There are chemicals and mineral deposits that can adhere to your lenses and harm your eye. Not to mention bacteria. Also, there is absolutely no need to rinse your case. The solution is a disinfectant - the water is actually worse than the solution. My suggestion is to toss that set of lenses and start with a fresh pair.

Never, EVER rinse your contacts in water. It is okay to clean the case with tap water, but that should only be after you put the contacts in in the morning, and then turn over the case on a paper towel to dry. Only use cleaning solution on your contacts, and make sure your hands are perfectly clean before putting them in/taking them out.

"Never use plain water directly on your contact lenses, and never put your contact lenses in your mouth to "rinse" them. Microorganisms can live in even distilled water, causing infection or sight damage."

Whoops? I ran out of the cleaning solution so I had to use tap water for 2-3 days/nights.

I'm fine.
But idk I guess you could say it was a "risk"
cause I didn't get an infection or anything.
