Any other symptoms? This sounds like something a doctor should check out soon. I have a friend whose son did something similar, turns out he a mild form of a developmental disorder. I'm sure this is nothing but it never hurts be sure or catch things early ..right? Good luck

That sounds pretty normal to me. I work with small children, and let me tell you they can be pretty quirky. Now if he was constantly rocking himself or moaning to himself and "spacey" as he does this, that would be a cause for concern.
This is in toddler/preschooler, so I'm guessing he's pretty young. Young kids are fascinated with their body and it's movements. More than likely he's just checking out how his brain makes his hands and feet work, and that is an interesting thing to explore.
Give it a month or so and see if it passes. My guess is that it's a phase that will get better on it's own. But if you are truly concerned with this, it couldn't hurt to take him to the doctor...if for nothing else your own piece of mind. :-)

How old is your stepson? Maybe that's just his way of playing. I wouldn't be too worried about it, kids will be kids and as long as he isn't hurting himself or anyone else I would let him go. If your really worried that something may be wrong I would make an appointment with his ped. I'm sure its nothing though..Hope this helped!

It doesn't sound like it's anything to worry about in general. His age and environment could shed a lot of light on this issue. He could have a compulsive disorder but it doesn't seem to be causing a problem. Check with his pediatrician next time he goes for a check up just to be sure.

My cousin was diagnosed with ADHD (One of the few actual cases). He would walk in circles for an hour or longer turning his transformers from the car to the robot. Just looking at it, and nothing else. Once he started on the ADHD meds he stopped doing this. I really don't like the ADHD meds, but in his case they helped. He is now almost 30 and has outgrown it, was in the Army and returned last year from Iraq.
