Oh my goodness its been two years since Iv'e had a dog and my parents are finally letting me get one!! I am getting my puppy October 14th, so I have about a month before I go and get him. When should I buy things like supplies and a crate for him? How soon before I go and get him? By the way he is a male Scott type American Bulldog!!!! Praise God!

Start now.

You're going to need a crate, collar, leash, bowls, toys, a vet picked out, and some high quality food.

You're also going to need to puppy proof the house and yard as well.

It never to early to start preparing for the arrival of a new pup.

Well, maybe you should look for items that you think a bulldog might like. Go to petco or whatever and reasearch different dog foods, look at shampoo's, beds, brushes, flea drops, etc) You can get your dog started in an obedience class....... you should start to prepare as soon as possible. Here is a list of things you can choose to buy for your dog.

Dog Food (Canidae,Wellness,Innova, NO pedigree or
Iams)

Bed

Dog Brush

Flea Drops (You will need these)

Shampoo

Bowl

Toys

Leash

Collar

Crate (This is optional, If you choose to get one, don't make it seem as a punishment when he is in there.)

Blankets(For the Crate, or optional)

You really won't need too much stuff.
Just reaserch the type a lot and see what his traits might be like. Here is a site that gives you info. Good luck!

congradulations!!!!!! I am so happy and exitcted for you that you are getting a dog. Bulldogs are very cute dogs although they can be a lot of work. I would buy all the supplies (food, brush, leash, ect.) at least two weeks before you get him. I would start looking for the crate as soon as possible because you might want to look around in order to find the best price

Start now, don't leave anything to the last minute. Google and find out what you might need for a new dog. Make sure that you book your first vet appointment for October 14 and get him checked out right away and start out properly. The vet is your friend, not someone to fear and avoid.

I would start buying things for him as soon as possible. That way you will not forget anything and you can get good deals on things when they go on sale.
