There are no "automatic" terms of probation in California, other than to obey the law. Other terms have to be explicitly ordered by the sentencing judge. However, that said, drug testing conditions are common if formal probation (i.e., under the supervision of a probation officer) is granted, especially in drug cases.

Periodic drug tests are commonplace for probation, regardless of the original crime. However, if it was a drug use charge, you can figure it will be more often.

Your body is theirs don't do drugs, don't depend on some 'fail safe' method of not getting caught, they will find it and you will not be happy getting your probation revoked.
Use your head and stay clean till you are off probation.
