LOL. You should not get worked up over this... it is a symptom of the brainwashing that they have been subjected to. in other words... they can't help it.

Take 1 Corinthians, for example:

1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
1:22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
1:23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
1:24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, that is very easy to interpret. Here we have a scam artist, trying to build an MLM organization, and trying to educate his victims on how to sort out the ideal types of NEW victims from those who will immediately see through the scam. He is essentially telling his potential recruits to focus their efforts on people who are as dumb or dumber than themselves... otherwise, they will just get laughed at. He is trying to convince them that stupidity and gullibility are virtues. It worked very well. It's a good thing, though, that these recruits did not know anything about scripture... otherwise, bits like Ecclesiastes, Proverbs, etc. might have presented a bit of a problem... stuff like:

15:2 The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.

3:35 The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools.

2:14 The wise man's eyes are in his head; but the fool walketh in darkness.

What having "...the Holy Spirit to help illuminate our minds to God's word" REALLY means is that they have been so thoroughly brainwashed that they are attuned to 'doublethink'... the ability to hold two contradictory propositions as 'true' at the same time, without experiencing 'cognitive dissonance... and without having their heads explode. Up is down, bad is good, murder becomes 'love'... fools are wise and the wise are fools... knowledge is meant to steer you away from the Lord, and ignorance is the way to righteousness and salvation... and drooling stupidity is a holy virtue. The ability to see god as 'all loving'... all the while knowing that this same god frequently ordered the Hebrews to bash babies' heads against rocks, and to rip open the bellies of pregnant woment with a sword... and not perceiving these two ideas to be in conflict. In other words, they are bug-nuts... insane... thoroughly deluded by sophisticated mind-control techniques that have been worked out, refined and perfected by christianity over the past 1,700 years.

There is a whole INDUSTRY (Christianity) whose BUSINESS it is to create whole generations of adults who are, at once, gullible, irrational, willfully ignorant, self-deluded, intellectually dishonest, droolingly stupid and hypocritical... and willing to tithe 10% for the privledge of having their cognitive dissonance held in check through regular doses of holy and pious bullshit.

Religious 'shepherds' KNOW that their 'flock' (sheeple) are scientifically ignorant and incapable of critical thinking... because they've been PROGRAMMED to be ignorant. They KNOW that they are suspicious of 'scientific' sources , and find them to be intimidating and incomprehensible... because they've been CONDITIONED to distrust them. These puppet-masters KNOW that their flock (victims) will seek their 'knowledge' from 'trusted' sources... these very-same puppet-masters. When the sheeple hear things like 'scientists claim that humans and apes shared a common ancestor, in the distant past', they experience 'cognitive dissonance'... this information is in conflict with the 'truth' that they have believed for their whole lives. So... where do they go to resolve this cognitive dissonance?... Scientists?... NO! They go to their 'trusted' sources... the sources who KNOW that they have been taught WHAT to think... they have not been taught HOW to think. Sources who KNOW that they can lie, obfuscate, misrepresent with impunity... with absolutely NO RISK that their minions will seek out independent, peer-reviewed corroborating information.

They do their jobs very well indeed... as can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xKDKq_PPbk&mode=related&search=

It should be no more surprising than the features of the last days given in Matthew. Such things have happened in the past, but in the last days, all of the features would be present, including ridiculers. If it's any consolation, at least you aren't part of Babylon the Great, the world empire of false religion.

Is this not a "chicken and egg" question? The fact is Jesus and his apostles knew ridiculers would be here and here you are. As long as the eggs are scrambled for breakfast, I don't care.

Some ridicule with arrogance due to ignorance while others out of evil intent. The ignorance can be due to just never looking or from never wanting to look. There are some who knowingly mislead others willfully.

Yes, you continue to prove the prophecy true, with your adamant and misconstrued accusations that Foxtrot is the origianter of this saying.
How is it that you could be so angry over a quote from the scriptures that you are falsely blaming foxtrot?
I agree with him, you are fulfilling scriptures.
Just as another verse said, God is putting a hook into your mouths to snare you as yua re worthy to be snared.

Go ahead, and blame foxtrot for accuritly quoting the Bible though it offends you.
Of course, you will fail to realize, that the anger you feel is a result of the cutting sword of the truth.

I see it as ignorant more than arrogant.

If he actually picked up a real book once in a while, he might grow a brain.

Then again since he claims the buy-bull is "God's Word", he is too brainwashed to have a functioning brain.

None of us is here to specifically fulfill Biblical prophecy. However, we are witnessing an amazing number of Biblical prophecies beginning to take place. We just happen to be present to witness it all. We are here to have a relationship with God and to do His will on earth. Nothing more, nothing less. Those who accept God will live eternally with Him in heaven. Those who reject God will eventually wind up in the Lake of Fire unless they repent.

Yeah, I saw that too. Very arrogant for him to think he knows that.

Why is this shocking?
How is it that you attribute this saying to me?
It is from the Bible!
2 Peter 3:. 3 For YOU know this first, that in the last days there will come ridiculers with their ridicule, proceeding according to their own desires 4 and saying: “Where is this promised presence of his? Why, from the day our forefathers fell asleep [in death], all things are continuing exactly as from creation’s beginning.”

You call me shocking, and arrogant?
I would love to accept responsibility,, but I did not write it, Peter did.
Oh yea of little yea...
Hey my friends, this word was written almost two thousand years ago, I would love to take credit for it, but again, I can't, it is not mine, it is God's.
So, if you are calling God arrogant, for telling us beforehand that opposers would be here, then do what you will.
Just remember, I know, that you do not have an argument with me, you are taking a stand against God.
