Hi. I'm a 21 year old male. A month ago I started having stress-related problems with swallowing due to my thyroid gland... and a lot of "butterflies" in my stomach... my doctor made me a standard blood and urine test and she said it was fine, that it wasn't anything serious. but 3 days ago i started having problems again, i have a headache (first it was on the left and now it's on the right side of the head... it doesn't hurt too much, more of a burn behind my eye, in my ear, neck and teeth), i'm nervous all the time, and since this morning i feel very tired and weak... maybe it's because i left the window open and the cold wind blew on my right side, but i'm constantly worried about having serious diseases... could this be just stress/cold related or is it something serious like brain cancer or something?? i still don't have seizures, or vomiting or something like that, but i'm worried it would start...?

First of all, anyone who so easily tells you that you have too much time on your hands to notice such things...is invalidating you. Where's the gong?

That said, anxiety certainly could be the sole cause of your issues. However, I think conditions that can prompt anxiety should be considered. Having a normal CBC (assuming that was run) is reassuring.

As for thyroid, it seems that it's usually just the TSH that is run. It certainly wouldn't hurt to have thyroid antibodies checked. A TSH test can be in range but if having elevated antibodies (TPO/TgAb), can paint the true picture.

As for swallowing, anxiety can cause swallowing issues. As can something such as acid reflux (GERD/LPR).

As for the other symptoms, TMJ? Do you grind your teeth at night?

It doesn't sound like you have anything to panick over. Take it one day at a time. You can request copies of your labs. You might want to consider the few things I've mentioned here.

Truly though, I wouldn't worry too much. I think you are alright but certainly wouldn't hurt to look into a few things.

Sounds more likely to me psychological. look up anxiety disorder on the internet and see if that seems like what it could be.
either way i think seeing a psychologist would be a good idea. they can help you find the source of your nervousness. and if you need it they might recomend medication.

some people have imbalances in their brains which cause them to be anxiouse to a degree that it negativly impacts their life. there is medication which can correct this imbalance.

What's stressing you out in your life? These things you've described sound like symptoms of anxiety and stress to me.

Find ways to focus your mind on other things...feed your mind with happy thoughts and do things that make you feel good inside (as long as they are healthy for you to do).

first of all...calm down.. you are stressing over something that shouldn't be stressed over. you aren't going to die, and i doubt your symptoms have anything to do with something serious....you are having panic attacks, and your stress is making you feel that way. go back to the doctor if you feel the need to, but i highly doubt you have anything wrong with you.
